Montessori Phonics Skills for Beginning Readers: Practice letter sounds, spelling and reading simple sentences! Pre-K, Kindergarten, First Grade

My daughter has done Montessori pre-school since she was almost 1. Purchased this workbook when she graduated pre-kindergarten there & she loves it! Challenging for her, yet it does scaffold the skills being taught, which helped her to catch on quickly!

My daughter has started doing the exercises in this wonderful Montessori book. She is learning to sound out and recognize simple words and this book is right at her level. We enjoyed counting the consonants in words for the first activity and she is now working on identifying the parts of compound words through images. She finds this challenging but not too challenging and enjoys the activities. It is right at her sweet spot in terms of challenge level. We will now move on to the activities identifying the beginning sounds of words. Afterward, there are many other phonological awareness activities to enjoy! Thank you for creating this fun and educational workbook!

My daughter(5) had so much fun doing this workbook. I feel as though the concepts being taught are actually age appropriate and easy for child to understand. I also bought the alphabet book for my 3 year old. I absolutely love the simplicity of these books. I don’t find it overstimulating like other workbooks out there. Using the Montessori method to teach young children phonetics is the way! I will definitely be buying all of these workbooks and would 100% recommend.

My 5 year old is struggling with reading and this workbook has helped us review phonics skills she was not getting enough practice with at school. Enjoyed the games offered for extra practice at home as well. I am already seeing improvement in her fluency. Will be recommending this to other families!

My son has CVI and works better with less visually cluttered pages and all of these are perfect for him and really nicely done.

I think I now own all the workbooks. I’m homeschooling using the Montessori method. However, I’m only human. And some days/weeks something comes up (sickness/travel/exhaustion/LIFE) and I need something to use to fill the gaps. They follow our philosophy. The pages are simple and straight to the point with little distractions. Other kids workbooks have too many cartoons or silly objects to try to “entice” the kid. They don’t entice they distract. These do not do that. Sometimes my child will get ahead of himself and start on pages we haven’t covered yet. His knowledge surprises me at times. And it lets me know when he’s ready for a new lesson. Highly recommend!
