Cutting the cord never felt better! (Review after 2 months)
Before anything, I have a few bullet points you should keep in mind: >I'm a claw gripper with medium sized hands (18cm x 10.5cm) >I used to main the Viper Mini before this >I play CS2, Genshin Impact, and Roblox >I'm your run of the mill casual gamer, but I can get sweaty in CS2 :] >I wanted to go wireless without breaking the bank >I have had normal experiences with Razer products (INCLUDING SYNAPSE) since my first one in 2020 (Blackwidow v3 TKL) >I decided to begin writing a review the moment the mouse died for the first time, which was 2 months after purchase Part 1: Unboxing, first impressions, and more The looks of the mouse is just TOO CLEAN! No RGB, just the subtle Razer logo and a nice looking mouse. Box is nothing too special, just comes with the mouse + dongle, one AA battery, the lovely razer stickers, and a manual. When putting my hand on the v3 Hyperspeed, it felt KILOMETRES more comfortable than the Viper Mini and any other mouse I've tried so far. My guess is that this was to do with the higher rear bump and its bigger form factor which made it suitable for medium/large hands and claw/palm grippers. On the feeling of mass (not weight, that's force due to gravity and is measured in Newtons not kilograms, get your facts straight), the jump from a 61 gram Viper Mini to a sub 80 gram mouse was indeed noticeable; more on this later in my review. The LMB and RMB are nice and crisp, but the side buttons are somehow, in my opinion, even more satisfying to hear and click (adding to this, the placement of the side buttons is perfect for your thumb). Scroll wheel is good, nothing special to say about it. It did not have the notorious "scroll-jump" defect that plagued my Viper Mini, which is relieving. Coating is smooth and grippy but beware for that it does have a tendency to attract oil and sweat, so be sure to clean it once in a while...or else the mouse will jump out of the window and run. Its skates go smoothly on both my Gigantus v2 and QCK Edge mousepads too. 30K DPI is honestly overkill but hey, its nice to have. For a first impression the build quality is perfect, with the exception being the rattling of the battery when you vigorously shake the mouse. Keep it mind that it's barely noticeable and requires such large amounts of shaking so it has ZERO effect on your usage & gameplay. Part 2: Gaming and general usage over 2 months For the first week, I had to adjust to this mouse before I got the feel of it. Immediately my aim was thrown off in CS2 and other shooters, as it felt like the higher mass was slowing down my movements and flexibility. I also underwent several DPI changes due to the higher sensor position, and it looked all gloom and doom from here. But I did NOT back down and return the v3 Hyperspeed as I knew this was just part of the process of adjusting to an entirely different mouse that I had high hopes for. And BOY was I correct! By week 2 I was fully adjusted to the mouse, finally letting go of that feeling of cabled mice. The mass of the v3 Hyperspeed DID NOT affect my gameplay at this point, and it even felt as lightweight as the Viper Mini since I fully adjusted to its higher mass. I WON'T directly say that my aim did improve over the Viper Mini, BUT I did notice how going wireless like this gave me more freedom on the mousepad which allowed for me to have more confidence in my aim. To be fair this is my first time going wireless...so moving on. Click latency and responsiveness of the v3 Hyperspeed FELT EXACTLY like a wired mouse; you can find more on its lab tested latency on RTINGS.com, which is the website I used to also compare mice until I eventually landed upon the Hyperspeed. From the hundreds of hours I spent with this mouse, not a single time did it disconnect on me in anything, from doing Google research to clutching many 1v1s in CS2 and defeating bosses in Genshin. Part 3: Final verdict This mouse is NOT one to sleep on. If you want an upper mid-range wireless mouse with the performance of more expensive mice out there while not minding having to swap out a single AA battery once every 2 months & carrying its sub 80 mass, then the Razer Viper v3 Hyperspeed is for you. This review being the longest one I've written on Amazon (as of 18th April 2024) just speaks for itself. I have been enjoying this mouse for 2 months now as a casual gamer & high school student, and I can't wait to use it for the next 2 months, 2 years, 2 decades? I dunno! One of the easiest 5/5 products I've bought, a clear upgrade from my old Viper Mini which can now retire o7 If you have a Viper Mini and want to go wireless, then the Viper v3 Hyperspeed is a clear recommendation from me. Though word of the Viper v3 Pro is spreading, I have no plans on buying it. I WILL stay loyal to the v3 Hyperspeed. Ah, I see that you didn't wanna read all that yapping up there Since you scrolled down this far, here's a summary: >Sub 80 mass is not all doom and gloom, you can get used to it >Feels just like a wired mouse >Comfortable for claw and palm grippers/medium to large sized hands >Coating may attract sweat and oil IF you don't clean it >After taking time to adjust it, it's becomes a great gaming weapon >Buttons are nice and crisp, scroll wheel too >Overall a great mouse, 5/5
