Definitely not Criollo!!
Not sure what they are playing at, but this?is definitely not Criollo cacao. The price should've been indication enough, but i've never really gotten a bad product from Indigo Herbs. Looks like i got my first dud though. Every company has em. It's impossible to have an extremely high quality supply chain for every product in your inventory, so it's sort of understandable. I'm not letting the labelling slide though. This is very misleading if they are the ones making the claims.Given the absolute, tongue curling bitterness of this, i would have to assume that this is most likely Forastero. It also makes sense it's that as it's probably the most popular cacao bean in existence. and is the building block of most commerical chocolate you could care to name. It's also really cheap, so it would reflect with the price for this quantity as well.Wont be buying again that's for sure

Didn't like the taste
I didn't like the taste. I enjoyed this much less than cacao paste I bought from other producers. It comes in random-sized chunks, ranging from tiny to fist-sized, all covered in cocoa powder. A real mess to eat.Might be ok for cooking though.
