The Top 1,300 Words for Understanding Media Arabic

This book is a great reference guide for those looking to expand their professional vocabulary. It's concise and is organized in an effective, easy to find matter. The pages are glossy and of high quality. It can be a little too specific for beginners, such as different internal organs that most likely wouldn't come up in a conversation, but you never know. This book is great for more advanced speakers, in addition to beginners. It's small enough to carry around although looking things up on a smartphone might be easier. I like to use it while studying as I associate the picture with the word a lot better than using a smartphone or dictionary. Anyway, for the price, this was a good investment for myself.

This is by far the best language reference for MSA vocabulary I've come across so far for studying Arabic media .

This book is useful as a reference but maybe a sentence to show some context would really improve it.

A carefully selected list of terminology in current communications use, it recreates the media jargon of mass media. A fine little book!

I did not like this book, there are much better books out there that offer a lot more terms, and I found some of the term translations were not accurate. The book is super tiny and flimsy. I will return it because I found others that are much better.

Maybe I have a newer version, but it came with a glossary in English, which some other reviewers complained it did not have

Highly recommend this book for all arabic learners who want to master media arabic once they have a basis in the language.

This is a well-researched product giving the user 1,300 words one needs to know in order to understand Media Arabic. The words are organized by topic and from there by subtopic (so in Politics and Government political organizations, political parties, political affiliations are grouped together), which makes familiarizing yourself with them easier. It's not a dictionary - though there is an English index, there is no Arabic one, so looking up words requires a bit more effort than knowing the alphabet, but not that much, as the book is only small and the categorization quite clear. Its main positive feature for me is how up-to-date it is - the Arab Spring and the Axis of Evil don't appear in many other word lists. If one is looking for a list of words to learn in order to understand Media Arabic, an endeavour which is aided by the sound files, this is the book to get.
