This a very practical book and very easy to read
This a very practical book and very easy to read. I've just read most of it but I am sure I will revisit it time over. Some really good ideas and templates included which make it great to dip in and out of. I am sure teachers and other educationalists will value it's content but as a TA I found it really helpful. I found it encouraging too that the author recognises the importance of the TA role and speaks directly to teachers and TAs. Many other similar books don't even mention the TA who often works more extensively and more closely with SEN. but this made me feel a valued part of the SEN child's environment.

Very useful
Although originally written in the 90s, this is a later edition with a lot of relevant information. An easy and informative read for anyone interested in working in this area.

Great for Teaching Assistant studies
I couldn't get hold of this book at the library so I decided to buy it seeing as it was such good value and it was also in fantastic condition.

I got a job thanks to this book!!!
This book gives a brilliant overview of several different types of Special Educational Needs. I have a degree in Psychology and I'd never heard of a few of them! This book was extremely useful when I was completing my teacher training course and I quoted information from it during a job interview, which resulted in me getting the job! I cannot praise this book enough!!! It is an absolute essential for anyone going into teaching!

The easiest book to read and understand
This book, (and others by the same author) are the easiest books for potential learning assisstants (special needs) to read and understand. I had already bought several books on differnt subjects before finding this one. I could have saved myself a lot of money by just buying this book, which has bits of everything you need to know about supporting children with special learning needs.

SEN Book
I returned the book back as it was not the right book for my level. I am about to start a level 3 Teaching assistant course and I wanted a book that was easier so I can learn about different types of special need that children have like ADHD or Dyspraxia and this might not be for me but I recommend it to other students. Good book!
It was a useful book for the university course I am about to start Have ordered some other books - would have been nice if SEN were explored individually and more context - however the bulk focused on what the book says it does - how to support and teach - which was good Easy to read, can photocopy work sheets easily.
