HPL Medieval Times Crusades Red & Green Chess Men Set of 32 Pieces Hand Painted, Standard Edition, 6+ Years

Beautiful set.Good detail but pieces do lack some weight otherwise Love it.

My 17 yo son made a chessboard in class at school so we were looking for a unique set of chessmen to go with it. When we found these we knew this was what we were looking for! When they came in the mail, and we saw them in person, we were so pleased. They were exactly as described and just look awesome with his board. Very happy with this set and would purchase again.

It looked like the pieces + board sets that are also available had somewhat oversized boards, so I went with pieces only. Very attractive set, nice detail, would look nice on any number of different boards. Pieces are only 1 inch diameter and a tad light, but I'm looking forward to weighting them with washers or coins and re-felting. It will be worth it for such good looking armies. Delivered less than 24 hours ago so durability is still a question. Will update review if it turns out to be a problem, but to be safe I plan to only use this set in carpeted rooms. I could see how a drop on hardwood or concrete could damage these.

This is an outstanding Medieval chess set. I am not a good chess player but I still love playing the game. As a hobby I collect different Chess sets. I bought this set because it was different. The quality of the pieces is outstanding. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five stars is because I think for $90.00 thy could have given you a little better box to store it in.

These are very well-made pieces, but you really have to pay attention to which piece belongs to which side if you grew up playing with only distinctive black/white pieces. It adds another level to concentration and will (hopefully) help me to become a better player.
