BrosTrend 2.5Gb PCIe Network Card for Gaming with Extra Low-Profile Bracket

My new PC can handle 2.5 GB speeds, so I upgraded my internet service to 2.5 GB, and then my modem, and router to match that capibility of the higher speeds. I installed BrosTrend 2.5 GB switch to replace my 1 GB switch. My security cameras, laptop, and other network devices can't handle 2.5 GB speeds, but I added this BrosTrend 2.5 gb network card to an older Windows 10 Intel i7 PC in another wired room and this switch and this simple to install 2.5 GB card provides the connection for the higher speeds to that PC without my need to manually update the network drivers on the older PC. Windows handles all that work so I didn't need to use the mini-cd disk included or website to update ethernet drivers for this 2.5 GB card (read instructions and power off your PC before installing!). This all works well and installs quickly to replace a slower switch (just transfer ethernet wires) for both PCs and 1 GB devices and it provides me with future options and upgrade path to take advantage. I love the faster speed on both PCs.

Works perfect so far I was running into the 970mbps on my task manager showing network was maxed out 100% b550 a pro has a 1gb limit This was the cheapest and easiest plug in play ever no drivers needed for windows 11 but now I’m getting 1,600mbps with this so worth worth if you don’t want to buy a new motherboard go with this

Worked out of box on Win 10, However had asymmetric speeds download vs upload. Installed realtek drivers and now speeds are max on both upload and download. One possible con I have encountered was radio frequency interference to my analog audio out put. Possiblly caused by installing it in pcie slot next to audio headers on mother board. Work around was to switch to usb speakers. All is great now.

If you have a hard wired network at home and are using CAT5E or greater network cables and are still using a gigabit ethernet card, it might be time to upgrade to 2.5G especially if you have greater than 1G broadband. This card does 2.5G transfers flawlessly and is a simple plug and play PCI-E card. Windows 11 instantly recognizes it without the need to install any drivers. It does come with a small format CD to install drivers for older systems that don't recognize it. My simple test is always running the usual gigabit ethernet card (built into the motherboard on most PC's) and checking the bandwidth (I have 1200 Mbps download connectivity although it gives me a little more). Without a 2.5 Gbps ethernet card I would always get less than 1G downloads (see my speed test results, I only got 700 Mbps download). Install the 2.5G card and ensure you match it with a at least 2.5G network switch otherwise you'll defeat the upgrade and I get over my 1200 Mbps download speed (closer to 1300 Mbps). It works excellent. Transferring files back and forth between my PC's on my home network is speedy now. Your drives have to be fast otherwise the drives will be the bottleneck, but , transferring between two M.2 drives that can handle over 2.5G gives blazing fast results. For the price and quality of this 2.5G card, it's worth every penny!

Good 2.5 gb network card. Very thin and easy to fit in any pcie slot. This will run at full speed on a PCIe 3.0 x1 slot. As far as I can tell this just uses the standard Realtek Gaming 2.5 GbE Network Controller that is found in many gaming motherboards.

Works well. Great value. It came with a CD for the drivers, and I have not used one in 10 years. ideally they could use a cheap small thumb drive instead. more useful. I'm giving it 4 stars because they didn't include a screw to tighten after installation. Of all things. I had to go screw hunting all over my house. Other than that, it's a great find for the price.

Plug and Play into my TrueNAS based home-lab. Jumping up to 2.5Gb was a really nice gift to myself for the home network. This card got plugged in and has been functional and STABLE ever since.

Plug in simple. Just popped it in, connected the Ethernet cable, rebooted and everything worked as expected.

Compré este modelo porque el wifi de mi pc dejo de funcionar como debía y las velocidades de internet eran muy bajas . La instalación fue sencilla y no tuve mas que hacer que encender el pc y conectar el cable y se hizo la magia...pasé de 90mb en bajada a 950mb. Muy recomendable.

Scheda di rete PCI ideale per chi vuole sfruttare tutta la velocità della fibra FTTH. presa per sfruttare una fibra FTTH a 2,5Mbps e funziona benissimo. basta collegarla all'apposito connettore sulla scheda madre, viene riconosciuta in automatico e i driver si installano automaticamente (volendo nella confezione è presente anche un cd con i driver da installare). scheda ben fatta e robusta, in due mesi di utilizzo non mi ha dato nessun tipo di problema. utili anche i led che indicano a che velocità la scheda sta lavorando
