I installed this filter in a dual filter system, the first is a sediment only filter for 1 micron before my pressure regulator, the second is this filter after the pressure regulator. I tested for chlorine before and after. Chlorine was present before, there is zero chlorine after installing this filter. The water is so clean, I can put it directly in my freshwater aquarium without adding any stabilizing chemicals. Since I did the filter housing installs myself, I installed pressure gauges in three places - before the regulator, after the regulator before this filter and after this filter. I see no pressure drop across the filter while running a single shower. I imagine if I turned on all four showers in the house at the same time, I would see some pressure drop, but that's not a normal scenario, the most I ever see with my family is two showers or baths at the same time. This isn't the least expensive filter out there, but it is NSF 42 rated which adds cost to producing these units. My source water is pretty good to start with, pH is 7.0, kH and gH are 3, so I do get the full 6 months service life from my filters. I have great confidence this will extend the service life of all my household plumbing, and after this filter had been in place for 4 months, I replaced all the shutoff valves (multi-turn valves with rubber washers) with 1/4 turn ball valves to further reduce contamination in the system. We removed the filters from our refrigerators as they are now redundant and only slow the flow. We couldn't tell the difference between straight tap water and refrigerator filtered water after installing this whole house unit anyway. I'm glad to be out of the $100 spend every 6 months for refrigerator only filters! Best of all, with this configuration, the bottom of the toilet tanks (replaced all the toilets with dual flush after installing the new filter) has remained pristine so I am confident the sediment filtering is working as intended too.

I have gotten this filter a few times over the last several years. It has been working well for me. In my case it has lasted longer than the recommended time before I needed to change it.

I changed out a 25 micron filter to this 5 micron filter hoping to stop mineral stains in our stainless sink but it hasn't done any better than the 25 micron filter at almost twice the price. We have manganese in our area water so trying to filter it out!

This is the same whole house filter( manufacture and model) my plumber installed a year and half ago but cheaper on amazon. The manufacturer says to replace every 6 months but we can get over a year with 3 -4 people in the house with no reduction of water pressure. This blocks chlorine and sediment along with other chemicals in city water, making the water as pure as can be.
