My son wanted to learn to weld so after practicing on just steel coupons. We moved to something more fun. He is trying to Mig weld a box that can hold water. They are the perfect size and makes learning more fun than just flat welding. They are light weight, great value and fully functional.

As a new hobby welder this offered great practice. Even after welding into cubes I was able to weld the inside corners for more practice and weld the cubes together. I plan to cut them up and reweld them for more practice so this offers a lot of practice if you don’t have any scrap metal.

You get what they describe. However after actually seeing it in hand, they seem small so I questioned the value for the money. Quality was fine. They are very sharp out of the package so be careful.

For a beginner going into the field of welding it was a good tool not only to practice the skills of welding but to understand how important it is to have square edges and measurements that are consistent for your project. He has moved on to cutting out his own pieces for his own projects. I’m a professional welder as his dad but you should always start at the beginning so you understand how metal reacts during welding. The field will challenge you for sure so no matter what you think you know always ground yourself to learn how to do it right.
