Amazing for children and adults.
I was that parent who said, “My child is not having a tablet.” Well, let me tell you, this one has completely changed my mind. Not only is it fantastic for long journeys, but the educational apps are genuinely excellent. I bought it on sale for around £100, and I would happily pay three times that amount for the amount of fun and learning it has given my son. The screen is large and very responsive. Unlike some other tablets, I have not noticed any lag at all. Setup is incredibly simple, just sign in with your Amazon account and you are ready to go. It is particularly well suited for children because they cannot make any purchases without parental approval via the Amazon website or app. That means no nasty surprises or sudden £300 bills for character skins. It connects easily to WiFi and Bluetooth devices, and the battery life is excellent. I was also pleasantly surprised by the quality of the speakers. The protective case is an absolute must have for little ones. It feels very solid and can withstand drops well. The free peace of mind warranty has already proved its worth. When my son somehow managed to crack the screen, the replacement process was completely hassle free. I simply contacted Amazon via live chat, explained the screen was cracked, and they arranged for Royal Mail to collect the broken tablet and sent out a replacement the very next day. There were no hidden fees or exclusions. It was fully covered and straightforward. I would 100 percent recommend this tablet. If you get it on sale, it is an outstanding product at a brilliant price. My son is only three years old, and it has been brilliant for him, even though it is officially recommended for ages 6 and above. You can also switch between profiles easily. The adult profile gives you full access to all apps, while the child profile is restricted to age appropriate content. It is quick and simple to switch between the two, so you can use the tablet for yourself too, almost like an iPad, but without the hefty price tag.

Great I pad alternative
I think these are perfect for kids and such a cheaper alternative than an I pad. Has all the apps and games on there and all age appropriate. The parent dashboard is useful and you can control what's on and time limits. It will also show you what they have been on and for how long. Battery life is ok and the picture quality good. The screen size is really good and perfect for my 8 year old

Fantastic tablet for kids – durable, reliable, and loved daily!
We decided to buy two of the Amazon Fire HD 10 Kids Pro Tablets after hearing so many great things about them – and honestly, they’ve exceeded all our expectations. Our kids (ages 4 and 6) use their tablets every single day, and they absolutely love them. Whether they’re reading, watching videos, playing games, or exploring educational apps, the tablets keep them entertained and engaged for hours. It’s been such a worthwhile purchase for our family. Here’s what really stands out: 🟢 Top-notch performance – Both tablets run smoothly, with no freezing or lagging, even after months of daily use. Apps open quickly, the touchscreen is responsive, and everything just works like it should. 🟢 Amazing battery life – The battery lasts all day, even with pretty heavy use. We’re not constantly having to recharge them, which is such a relief, especially on car journeys or quiet time at home. 🟢 Super durable – We all know kids can be rough with things, but these tablets can take a beating! The included protective cases are fantastic – they’ve survived drops, bumps, and even a couple of spills, and they still look great and work perfectly. 🟢 Great value and peace of mind – The Amazon Kids+ subscription is a fantastic bonus. It gives them access to a huge library of age-appropriate content, from books and games to educational videos. And as a parent, I really appreciate the easy-to-use parental controls – I can set screen time limits, age filters, and monitor what they’re doing all from the app. 🟢 Built for growing kids – We went for the Kids Pro version specifically because we wanted something that would grow with them – and this fits the bill. It doesn’t feel too “babyish,” and the kids love the more grown-up look and feel. All in all, this has been one of the best tech purchases we’ve made for our family. Both tablets are still going strong, with zero issues. The kids are happy, and we’re happy knowing they’re using something safe, educational, and built to last. Highly recommend to any parents thinking about it – we took the plunge and bought two and we’re so glad we did!

A year on: The ultimate iPad alternative if you want proper parental control
We have had the Fire HD 10 Kids Pro for well over a year now for our six-year-old, so this isn't just a honeymoon-phase review. Having lived with it daily, I can honestly say it has been a superb investment and has held up brilliantly to everyday bumps and scrapes. A lot of parents automatically default to buying an iPad, but for us, this tablet wins hands down entirely because of the software. Rather than just handing over an open device and hoping for the best, the Amazon setup genuinely puts you in the driver's seat. Unlike standard tablets where you are constantly looking over their shoulder, this system allows for absolute micromanagement of their digital environment. You can ruthlessly restrict specific content, entirely block certain types of media, and hand-pick exactly which games they are allowed to access. There is no risk of them stumbling into inappropriate video rabbit holes or accidentally downloading things they shouldn't. If they want a new game, they have to send a request to my phone for approval first. Having used it for over twelve months, it has been incredibly refreshing to let our child have independent screen time without the usual parental anxiety. If you want a robust device that actually keeps you in control of what your kids are consuming, I cannot recommend this highly enough.

Best Child's Tablet Available
I have had several different Amazon Fire tablets for my children over the years and they have all been brilliant. Eventually like any tech item they do get outdated after several years and obviously the child proof warranty runs out which all in all means it's time to upgrade. However I am never reluctant to do so as these devices are so reliable and robust. They are hard wearing even for children who tend to throw their toys. And if it some how does get broken, Amazon are so helpful with replacements. This particular model has a lovely new style space case. It's a very cool design. The screen is very vibrant and still 10 inches in size. It's very light and the connection to WiFi is quite a far distance, more than we need for inside my home and out in our garden. Overall, I recommend for anyone trying to choose a tablet for the child.

An excellent kids tablet with strong parental controls and great content
The Amazon Fire HD 10 Kids Pro is, without question, a very capable tablet for children aged 6–12. The screen is bright and sharp, performance is smooth, and the battery life is excellent - it easily lasts a full day of use without needing a recharge. This is very much a real tablet, not a toy, which is both its biggest strength and its biggest risk. The parental controls are genuinely strong. From the Amazon Parent Dashboard you can manage screen-time limits, pause the device remotely, set educational goals, and approve or block apps like Netflix, Disney+ and Zoom. Used properly, this gives parents a lot of control and visibility. The included year of Amazon Kids+ is also a solid addition. There’s a huge amount of ad-free books, games and videos from brands kids actually care about, which makes the tablet immediately engaging and easy to set up. That said, this is where the caution comes in. Because the device is so polished, fast and content-rich, it’s very easy for screen time to creep up if boundaries aren’t clearly defined and actively enforced. The tablet does exactly what it’s designed to do - keep children engaged - which means parents need to stay on top of limits rather than relying on the tech alone. The robust case, 2-year worry-free guarantee and expandable storage all add to the value, and for travel, homework, or limited downtime, it works extremely well. Best for: • Parents who are confident setting and enforcing screen-time rules • Travel, learning apps, reading, and controlled entertainment • Older children ready for more responsibility An excellent kids tablet with strong parental controls and great content - but not a “set and forget” device. Used intentionally, it’s a 5⭐️ product. Used without boundaries, it can quickly become a problem.

Very happy with this product
This product is amazing! I should've bought it sooner, my daughter loves it. It's good and kid-friendly, and as a parent, I can control what my kid accesses and restrict any content that's not suitable for her age. It has hundreds of games, learning apps, etc. If you're looking for a good tablet, this is definitely the one. Its processor is impressive and fast, no lagging or freezing, it works perfectly. Plus, the tablet comes with a protection case of your choice.

Shocking parental controls . Beyond belief
So I brought these tablets for 5 and 6 year olds because it seemed the safest option available with the parental controls. How wrong I was! So I set up the devices with parental controls enabled which was quite a straight forward process I thought. I set it so that if the kids installed games, apps etc, it would notify me for approval. It did this initially for some apps but then it just started installing them without needing approval so my kids were able to play all sorts of rubbish that I didn’t want them playing. Contacting support was not helpful at all. They did some changes that they said would solve the issue but it didn’t. On Christmas Day my children were playing with their new devices and my daughter found all these apps with stick thin faces which is absolutely not something I want her looking at and influencing her. I contact support again to say that they are still able to download stuff despite me selecting the option to request approval for downloads. I was told to disable the store so that they don’t have access to it as the solution. Poor solution because how many other children are out there where parents are watching so closely on what they are able to do. Also there are so many apps and games that they have access to even with the store turned off which is part of the kids + package. Also my son was listening to something in audible which then said you needed to download an app before it could play. Without having to accept anything it started to download this app which was filled with just mindless, stupid videos. I wanted to be able to remove all the apps and choose the ones that I wanted them to see so I asked support how I could do this. They told me that these apps were part of the kids + package. I then asked what if I cancel the kids + content to which I was told that it would remove the content but also all restrictions meaning that they could access anything like with no protection! After more pushing I was then told that I can remove and approve apps but that it was a ‘tedious’ process because you have to remove them 1 by 1 and there are hundreds and hundreds of apps and games. Some apps can’t be removed as well because they are added as part of the age allowed restrictions and you can’t override this! Crazy that you cannot control exactly what your children have access to as some of the things Amazon have approved as part of their ‘curated’ content is shocking in my opinion. Amazon have made it as difficult as possible for parents to control what their children have access to. You are also tied into the kids + subscription if you want to use the parental controls. Amazon have massively gone down in my estimations as it seems they just want to get kids hooked on technology and they don’t take their responsibility to protect children seriously. I spent over 5 hours on Christmas Day and Boxing Day online with Amazon support trying to resolve the issues but they just weren’t getting the issues and the support person kept changing mid conversation so I had to keep repeating everything. The whole thing has left me infuriated. After many hours, I now have the devices in a place where I am semi happy for my children to be using them but it has taken many hours. However issues remain. I want to be able to add web videos manually however I keep getting errors. I have an IT Support background so am not IT incompetent. It seems as though Amazon are trying to increase children’s addiction to devices by taking control of what children see away from parents. It is seriously disappointing that a company such as Amazon are not being more responsible when this is a serious problem that the effects can be seen in society. If you care what your children are able to view and do on their devices then this isn’t for you.
