LimbO Waterproof Protectors Dressing Cover for Shower, Adult Knee M86, 39 to 54 cm Above Knee Circumference

Amazing! There’s nothing worse than not being able to have a lovely hot shower because of a wound and dressing - a friend recommended the Limbo range, so I bought one to protect the dressing over the stitches on my knee. As others have said, as an extra precaution I wrapped clingfilm around the knee too, but I didn’t need to. It kept everything bone dry. A great product, well worth the money !

It works very well and kept my wound dry. However, it was very difficult to get on due to the swelling after knee replacement, even though I followed the measuring guide.

I was apprehensive in using this covering after my knee surgery, and actually wrapped the knee with cling film before putting on the cover .. this wasn’t needed and actually made pulling on the very tight item quite difficult.. I had a really lovely shower, and the dressing stayed dry. I can confirm you do not need to use any other protection than this Limbo cover. Yes, it is very tight and the obvious reason is that it keeps the water off the area. I am very happy that I bought this item and can see, that with good care, this will be useful again when I have my next surgery. Brilliant value for money and was also recommended by my Physio team

I had to buy both models because my District Nurse keeps switching me from stockinette to full bandage. I’ve used each of them a couple of times now and they do work, so if they carry like this I’ll forgive the expense. I’ve no idea how long they’ll last with daily use but I’m gambling on fewer problems given the price and so far I’m happy even if there are still things to look out for. (1) The sleeve is 38cm (15”) fully stretched. The maximum circumference it accommodates from a measurement taken the recommended 8cm above the knee is 54cm (22”). This could be a stumbling block if you’re protecting your lower leg (below the knee and above the ankle), if you’re tall, fat or both, or if you just need it to reach above the joint. That’s because it doesn’t, or not in my case where the wound is just above the ankle. I’m a fat 5’ 6” (168cm). The LimbO covers my lower leg perfectly - where it’s needed - but it sits below the knee, not above it. You can see how tricky this might get if you skip the measurement part so ignore the numbers on the listing and don’t guesstimate. (2) The major warning with the LimbO is for the elderly, immobile or even if you’re just on your own because you could well need help getting it on. I’m 72 and live by myself. I took delivery a week ago and it’s a struggle believe me. You need both hands to get a foot through the stiff rubber seal (it’s the stiffness that makes it effective so we can’t have it both ways). I have a lot of trouble bending. The answer for me at least has been to put the toilet seat down, place my foot on it, then sit the foot back on its heel, raising the toes to let me pull the sleeve over. Next I move my weight forward onto the balls of the foot, raising the heel so I can jiggle the material backwards until it clears the ankle and heel. It’s manageable but it takes it out of me and as much as I appreciate keeping everything dry I’m beginning to hate showering. Younger people of a normal build and those able to call on help should be fine. These are problems of age and immobility of course. They are nothing to do with the item as it is manufactured. On its own the LimbO seems well made. It has a thick, opaque plastic sleeve that shouldn’t tear when handled sensibly and rubber seals that cling tightly and actually work. Happy to recommend.

I shower daily without fail & as I was due to have knee surgery I researched Amazon for suitable products as knew I'd have dressings to keep dry. This one came up with good reviews & said it was used by the NHS so thought it the best/suitable option. I was able to use it the next day and had no issues, my leg & dressings remained perfectly dry & have continued to use it daily whilst the dressings are still in place. When the nurse said I needed to keep the dressings dry I said I had purchased something to wear in the shower & she asked if was a Limbo so glad I went with this option. Fits my leg perfectly and performs as described. Would recommend this product.

Quality product at a fair price, just used this while taking a shower. Easy to put on and remove and kept my dressing perfectly dry.

This does just what it says it will. There is a reason a lot of hospitals and physio centres buy this brand. It’s very well made, neoprene is nice and soft and slides over skin with ease. It has kept 99% of water out in showers which is more than most cuffs have ever done. I have also used it in the bath and provided you are careful it will work. Please bear in mind though that condensation inside is natural and the inside will get a little damp. It’s not going to be 100% waterproof and prevent condensation. That would be impossible to achieve . One thing to note is the fitting . The product is not as long as you might perhaps want. Depending on the extent of your knee surgery, swelling etc it may not be long enough and you may be better to buy the full leg version from them. If you have small legs you will be fine but if you have larger muscles due to sports like Rugby or if you are simply overweight then consider the full length one. The top opening was fine but the bottom opening was a bit tight and although I managed to get it pulled up enough to cover the dressings ( ACL replacement) it would have been nice to have it a bit longer.

My surgeon recommended this to protect my dressing after a knee operation. I had to keep the dressing dry for 2 weeks. This product simply works. It slides on easily and makes a waterproof seal so you can shower as normal with total confidence. its comfortable too. When you are in recovery and trying to get back to normal, being able to shower as normal is a huge bonus. Even just to take your mind off things. I highly recommend this product and I think it's good value too.

Acheté pour protéger un bandage sur un genou d'homme opéré. Aucune infiltration d'eau, élastiques puissant, cette protection fait parfaitement son job!

Appena finito di usare per proteggere il ginocchio a seguito di un intervento al menisco. Fatta la doccia tutti i giorni e non è mai passata una singola goccia d'acqua! Fantastico! Non oso pensare cosa sarebbe stato passare questi giorni di caldo senza avere la possibilità di fare una bella doccia come se niente fosse. Unica pecca: dopo qualche minuto che lo si ibdossa si inizia ad avvertire una leggera sensazione di umido... Niente paura! È solo il vostro sudore. Eh sì, essendo praticamente un pezzo di plastica fa sudare parecchio ma se non state mezz'ora sotto la doccia andrà benissimo. Raccomandato!

Protège bien lors de la douche, mais, après 3 utilisations, la bande élastique se craque déjà.....
