Best Tagine Pot Ever
We bought an identical Alva Nori pot in Paris and used it for a year, but when we cam back to Chicago it was a little too heavy to put into our bag, and we left it for friends. We missed it instantly. So, we got this one off of Amazon. Cooked Tagine Chicken last night. It keeps everything moist and evenly cooked, like most Tagines, but its enamel interior coating makes it very easy to clean. Love it.

Nice for a knockoff...
These are not original Belgium pans. They are made in China. The finish is quite rough. Not very smooth. It does look really neat in design. It is very heavy and impressingly so. Ive had food stick several times cooking in it. The handles get hot which is good, that shows good heat distribution, just a word of caution. While I have not had the pan long I thought I would test the durability of the finish since food was sticking to begin with, and gave it some good strokes with a metal spatula. Yes I know but sometimes I like to give things a good test......to my surprise I see no scratches at all! NOT ONE! The price is quite high imho and certainly has its pros n its cons. I have cooked several things and soupy foods were not as much of a problem with sticking as long as I kept the heat low and stirred constantly. Things like mini pizzas and onion rings were more an issue. The finish is very tough but not as slick as others. If you like the design, can handle the heft and yes this baby is hefty, the price is not an issue, and you can keep them muscles strong stirring, its really an impressive pan.

Impressive finish, has a cast iron top as well, unique quality cast iron- very pretty
Alva is a company out of Belgium that has been making cookware for over 70 years. Nori is their cast iron line and this tangine pot is fabulous. The cast iron is definite quality and the enamel finish is exceptional even when compared to the most popular cast iron brand. In fact, with that popular brand the tangine only has a cast iron bottom, the top is some kind of ceramic. This Alva tangine has both a cast iron bottom and cast iron top. The shape of the lid is what makes this a tangine. So far I have used this on the stovetop, oven, and pellet grill. The food cooks evenly with all 3 methods. Most recipes I found for the tangine are cooked on the stovetop. Most recipes are for slow cooked stews and vegetable dishes. The shape of the lid traps the steam and somehow drops it down on to the food kind of blending the flavors and keeps things moist. This can be used also like you would use a Dutch oven, or just use the cast iron pan alone. Clean up was way easier than I expected, as I have had to soak other enamel cast iron pans for hours or overnight. This cleaned up easily with soap and a dish brush. When I cooked the chicken on my recteq pellet grill I left the pan soak for maybe 10 minutes and it all came out clean. This looks fabulous on the table and keeps food hot for a long time. The only downside is storing the lid as it does take up space. Overall I am very happy with this cast iron pan and pleased that it comes with a 25 year warranty.

Quick Take: The Alva Nori Tagine is a beautifully designed and highly functional cooking pot perfect for creating delicious Moroccan dishes. Its solid construction and enamel coating make it both durable and easy to clean, while the unique tagine shape ensures excellent cooking results. Pros: Solid Construction: Durable and long-lasting. Easy to Clean: Enamel coating simplifies cleaning. Stylish Design: Adds a touch of elegance to your kitchen. Excellent Cooking Results: The tagine shape enhances flavor and moisture retention. Cons: None noted. Why You'll Love It: Imagine crafting a rich, flavorful Moroccan tagine in your own kitchen with ease. The Alva Nori Tagine makes this possible. The first time I used it, I was impressed by its solid construction and the stylish look it added to my kitchen. The enameled cast iron is not only durable but also ensures even heat distribution, which is crucial for slow-cooking dishes. I prepared a classic chicken tagine with vegetables and spices. The cone-shaped lid created the perfect environment for the ingredients to cook evenly, trapping steam and redistributing it, which enhanced the flavors and kept the dish moist. The result was a tender, flavorful meal that delighted everyone at the table. Cleaning up after cooking was a breeze thanks to the enamel coating. Unlike traditional cast iron, which requires careful maintenance, this tagine pot cleaned up easily with minimal effort. Its stylish appearance also makes it a great serving dish, allowing you to take it straight from the oven to the table. Overall, the Alva Nori Tagine is a fantastic addition to any kitchen. It’s perfect for those who enjoy cooking and want to experiment with traditional Moroccan recipes. Its combination of durability, ease of cleaning, and excellent cooking results make it a top choice for both novice and experienced cooks.

Made in china.
This item is made in China and only designed in Belgium. I would have never chose it had I known. There are many others out there for much less money that are made in China. Due to the price, I assumed this line was made in Belgium. The ceramic coating is not even and is really jagged around the lid. Sadly, I won't use it because I don't trust anything made in China. Expensive mistake.

Great pot
This Tagine is a great pot to have on hand. I haven't made the actual tagging dish yet, but it's great for all your cooking needs. It is after all enameled cast iron. The enamel coating means easy clean up and even those who don't know how to care for cast iron can avail themselves of it. Awesome pot to have and should last a good long while. You'll be passing this on for generations to come.
