I originally started looking for bulky cereal containers to store my 3D printer filaments and keep them dry, but I stumbled across this vacuum sealing system instead—and I am so glad I did! This system is incredibly easy to use and works perfectly for filament spools. Instead of lining my shelves with hard plastic containers that take up a ton of extra room, these vacuum bags shrink right down to the size of the spool itself. It is a massive space saver for my workspace. If you are on the fence or looking for a better way to organize and protect your filament from moisture, I would highly recommend this to anybody. Definitely a 5-star find!

I've used a few different dry-box storage options, and this one has worked the best for me for longer term storage. I've used about 10 or more bags already and only one hasn't held a vacuum very well. All of the others have stayed very tight for several weeks and appear that they will last for a long time. The bags are a bit tight getting the spools of filament in them. Don't expect to get a large spool in them, but the average size ones do fit. The vacuum pump works very well and will bend the filament spool sides in on partial rolls if you let it. It pulls a much higher vacuum than any of the other pumps I've used before and it gets a great seal on the bag when pumping. The only thing I have to do is remember to raise the bag a bit on a flat object where the pump seals so it will stay flat when getting pulled in tight. I'll definitely be buying this again if I ever need more bags. But since they are reusable, it may be a while before I need more.

There are numerous glowing reviews here, so perhaps I got a "bad batch", but these bags have been useless for me. The vacuum pulls very, very slowly, but I didn't expect a small hand vacuum to be all that powerful so that's not my complaint. I was able to use it on a few bags, but what I ran into is the vacuum not being strong enough to pull air out of the bags at all. Thinking it was the weak pump, I purchased a small hand-vacuum and that didn't pull air out either. This morning, I finally did a bigger test and tried to pull air out of 15 of the bags (new out of the box and therefore previously unused, with a spool of filament in them) with the hose attachment on a full-size floor vacuum cleaner and it didn't do anything on ANY of them, which tells me these valves are not working at all. It does seem odd to me that the first few bags I used worked okay (and have maintained great seals), but that other bags later have been failures. They have been stored at room temperature in a dry environment.

Update: was contacted by the company and they made it right by replacing the bags and’s the pump. This was greatly appreciated. I bought the bags and auto pump at the end of January and the auto pump just stopped working. I also have a few bags that don’t seal anymore after 2 uses. Everything worked great at the beginning but not so much now.

If I could select 3.5 stars for this review I would. The bags are the right size for standard 1KG rolls of filament. The pump - when it seals - does have good suction. The bags securely close and once the pump removes the right amount of air from them the rolls of filament will fit back into their boxes. My issue is with the pump. It's super fiddly to get it to open the one way valve and start removing air. I've started laying the rolls of filament flat on a table and then supporting the corner with a harbor freight digital caliper case to keep it at a neutral height then placing the pump on the valve and starting the process. Generally takes a fair amount of fiddling with the position of the pump to get it to start extracting air. Whether this is due to a strong one way valve, position of the bag, the valve being sucked against the opposite of the bag or some other factor I'm not sure. I will take a roll up to the Foodsaver vacuum sealer we have and try it's extendable pump to see if it has the same problem. The Foodsaver likely has a stronger pump and if it can consistently remove the air from the bag then I'll blame the pump or the sealing mechanism of the pump. If not then I'll assume the one way valve is stronger than the pump... I've sealed a few rolls and left one unboxed on the shelf to check on over the coming days and weeks to see if the valve leaks. I think the idea is sound but some part of the execution of it is lacking.

I started out loving these bags and pump. They sealed well and never leaked. However, a few months in and maybe a couple dozen uses, the pump barely suctions. I’m guessing an internal seal broke or something because the motor still sounds like it’s pumping.
