Rich, Earthy, and Beautiful Matcha!
Akira Matcha powder exceeded my expectations. The flavor is wonderfully rich and earthy with no harsh bitterness, making it perfect for daily lattes and tea. The powder has a vibrant green color that signals freshness and good quality. The container size offers a very reasonable amount of product for the price, and I feel Iām getting excellent value for a ceremonial-style matcha at home. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a reliable, high-quality matcha powder.

The Perfect Balance of Quality and Price
I grew up in Japan drinking matcha regularly, so Iām very picky when it comes to quality. Good matcha can be extremely pricy, and Iāve been on the hunt for something that balances authenticity, flavor, and affordability. This Matcha hits that sweet spot for me. Itās organic, ceremonial grade, andāmost importantly for meāsourced from Uji, Kyoto, the region known for producing some of the best matcha in Japan. The color is a beautiful, bright green and the texture is smooth and silky. The taste is rich but not bitter, with that natural sweetness I expect from true ceremonial matcha. For the mid-range price, the quality is honestly impressive. I can enjoy my daily matcha ritual here in the States without feeling like Iām overspending. Iāve repurchased several times already and plan to keep this as my go-to matcha. Highly recommend to fellow matcha lovers who want authentic flavor without breaking the bank.

Consistently High Quality Matcha at a Competitive Price Point
Matcha Snob Approved. If youāre looking for a ceremonial grade matcha at a daily-use price, Matcha Konomi is it. Iāve been buying this matcha on Subscribe and Save for years. The color is a gorgeous spring pea, the taste is rich, fresh, and never bitter. I use a strainer to ensure any static electricity clumps arenāt an issue. I use an electric whisk with the hot water because it gets the match more frothy than a bamboo whisk. Iāve also added the matcha straight to a bottle of chocolate Fairlife for a protein matcha latte. Clean, focused energy. (The sellers send a piece of cute origami washi paper in each order. Iāve recently begun making fridge magnets with the paper. See picture.)

The best matcha Iāve tried
For the past 13 years, Iāve been a daily matcha drinker. I had a couple of bad reactions to drinking coffee prior to that, so I was determined to find a suitable alternative. Iāve tried dozens of brands over the years. Akira matcha checks all the boxes with its consistent quality, bright green color, depth of aroma and flavor, and value for the product received. My new bag was delivered yesterday and I noticed itās already out of stock again.

A very nice Matcha.
Color: Is a very vibrant green. Grind/powder: This matcha is amazing, this has been the only matcha I have purchased that there is no need to sieve prior to use, its pointless to do so. Froth: Easy to build a nice thick froth, and it sticks around, providing you don't use too much water. Taste: I find the taste to be nice, I make mine with ~3.5oz of water to the 1g of matcha powder. Yes I weigh it out the first week or so to get a feel for what it looks like. Due to this matcha being so finely ground it looks like your adding quite a bit of powder. Hence the scale. It has a very pleasant grassy/earthy thing going on, its not as "strong" flavored as others I have tried but I would say the flavor is more pleasant. I have noticed that letting the prepared matcha sit for any length of time results in the matcha falling out of suspension. I'm left with a bowl of lightly flavored water on top of a thick matcha pool at the bottom. Simple enough to resolve with a quick stir if I have let it standing and easier to prevent by preparing and promptly consuming. I also have to note the packaging, the tins are nicely sealed. The cover is easy to open/close and has a good seal, even after opening the foil. There is no package of desiccant mulling about in there either, just matcha. I'm looking forward to trying the Amaya next time.

Great matcha! Just get one!
This is truly a vibrant green, ceremonial grade matcha. Some brands claim to be ceremonial grade, but the color is a dull, olive green. I love this brand! I think the taste notes are like seaweed, with an aromatic fragrance. However, there's a slightly bitter aftertaste. If you drink it as clear matcha, there might still be a hint of bitterness, but I think it would be perfect if made into a matcha latte!

Akira Matcha Checks All the Boxes
I've tried other matchas and I keep coming back to Akira. It is a bright green color and has a wonderful taste. It checks all the boxes. Organic, ceremonial grade, from Uji, first harvest, and tested for heavy metals. And the company seems take pride in their customer experience. They send a small, unique piece of origami paper with each order and care about your satisfaction with their product.
