Have had this monitor for 3 years, and it is EXCELLENT for 1440p gaming. Running a 7900 XT (20 GB) GPU, and a Ryzen 7800x3d CPU and I get excellent frames on this monitor. Easy to configure. For me, it's the perfect balance between resolution, size, FPS, color, brightness, response time, and PRICE. Great bang for buck,

VISUALS: I “upgraded” to this monitor due to some panel problems with my Pixio Px276. TN panels are known to be “dull” or not have the best colour accuracy so I expected this VA panel to provide a big visual difference and I wasn’t disappointed. The blacks are very dark and not as grey as they appeared on my previous monitor. I am currently playing through FFXVI and wow, is it a visual spectacle on this monitor! When testing on dark games primarily like FF7 remake the contrast caused the other colours to really pop on the screen. The colours are more vibrant than my previous TN panel and creates a much more visually appealing display. CURVE: Initially I was concerned with the 1000R curvature but this turned out to be a non issue after a couple days of usage. I am not sure if it was necessary for a 27” monitor as I do still find myself turning my head slightly when trying to focus on content at the furthest edge of the screen but I sit about two and a half feet away from it so it may not be an issue if you are closer. I have found that the curve does provide a more immersive experience when gaming or watching a movie. FRAMERATE: I don’t play competitive games so the 240HZ of this monitor is a bit overkill for my needs plus I don’t really have the GPU power to run newer titles at that frame rate. I did however try some older titles like Borderlands 2 to experience these high frame rates and they are buttery smooth although I personally can’t really seem to tell the difference between the 100s and 200s range. HDR: Unfortunately HDR is not supported on Ubuntu yet but I did try to test it on a Windows 10 machine and was left a bit perplexed. Now, I had heard that HDR wasn’t great on PC/Windows but I did not expect to have giant pixilated blocks with HDR enabled. I understand that some fine tuning is required to get HDR to work properly but I did not bother to pursue it as HDR wasn’t really a requirement for me but more of a bonus feature of the monitor. NEGATIVES: The only negative is that I found the menus to be a bit cumbersome to navigate at least when compared to my previous Pixio monitor. In my opinion the “normal” colour mode appeared to be more accurate than the default “warm” selection but I have barely made any changes to the monitor, using it with mostly default out of the box settings. I know there is an app that can be installed instead of fiddling with the monitor controls but I haven’t tested it. CONCLUSION: The monitor has worked great with no dead pixels etc over the last couple months of usage and do I hope it continues to last with no issues. I have known AOC to be a good legacy brand at least from the CRT days and I hope that legacy has been upheld over the years so that it has the same type of longevity and reliability as those older monitors. I think it’s a great monitor and from my personal experience it serves as a big upgrade in visual fidelity over a TN panel.

Bought two of these and they are wonderful. I am bed bound and needed upgrades from a TV I was forced to game on for years that was old. Husband got these mounted one to the wall and other setup on a stand they both work wonderful. I can see everything nicely now in great resolution. You can adjust settings easy. Total package here for an affordable price. Setup was maybe 5 mins to install stand.

Never had my own monitor system before and I was so surprised with how big a “27 monitor actually would be, so the size is something I definitely have to get used with. Have it plugged to my Legion Go and it’s working amazing, no problems with the connection. The brightness is alright, I play in the dark and my eyes don’t hurt even if I’ve been playing for hours. It’s a good monitor overall. :))

This review is for the CQ27G4H 2K 27" 1500R 180Hz curved gaming monitor. Paid about $199+tax for it around the time of Black Friday 2024. Full disclosure, was searching for a new monitor for both PS5 and PC gaming and was previously using a 1080p Vizio HDTV from like 2010. Any monitor nowadays would probably be an upgrade compared to that. Of what I tested, the visuals looked great for PS5 gaming. Supported 2K resolution with HDR at 120 Hz while playing supported games. No dead pixels or flickering; looked solid out of the box. Unfortunately, I stopped testing there and didn't attempt to max out the performance by plugging in my gaming PC... Because, the monitor stand was hilariously crooked to the point of being unplayable. Notice the levels on the stand legs, and on the top of the monitor - this picture wasn't taken at a weird angle, it's taken from the front! This is NOT the type of stand that features rotating the monitor to portrait mode, too - and the piece that goes into the monitor is hard fixed to the stand stem, so there's no adjusting it. (Checking Reddit and doing Google searches reveals that the monitor stand quality of AOC monitors can be very hit-or-miss.) The stand's base is also a very sharp-angled V as opposed to a regular rectangular or round island shape, which I imagine can definitely get in the way and take up a strange amount of space on your desk. My options for the crooked stand were to attempt to unscrew some of the screws on the plate to try to realign it (but didn't do that because I didn't want to risk voiding warranty), or to contact AOC customer service. Contacting AOC's customer service on their official website requires you to create an account, which is where I decided to throw in the towel and return the monitor. I had read a lot of customer service reviews with this company and seen many hit-or-miss stories too. I realize I also could have bought a third party 100x100 VESA mount stand, as this monitor does support that... But why should I have to immediately discard the stand that comes with the monitor and buy a replacement stand unless it were defective? This was my first time buying from this brand. Again, the monitor seemed fine for gaming, but the stand was very crooked and it wasn't worth the extra effort for me to come up with a solution so I could keep it.

Great montior Wonderful refresh rate and clarity. The stand is a little awkward in terms of its footprint, but im assuming its to best distribute the weight. Easy to setup and ability to raise/lower, turn and tilt. For this size of a curved QHD monitor, its a great deal

Lo compré en febrero 2022 y vaya que le he dado uso. Al principio no me encantaban los colores, pero le estuve moviendo la configuración y a día de hoy lo enciendo y me sigue brindando una genuina satisfacción su imagen, la calidad, nitidez y frecuencia. Me alegra haber hecho esta inversión que me ha permitido incrementar mi eficiencia laboral, jugar con una gran imagen e incluso funcionado como entretenimiento mediante un Fire stick y una bocina conectada por 3.5 mm. Recomiendo su compra, aunque no sea tan económica entre toda una línea de diferentes marcas y prestaciones de monitores. Aquí simplemente recibes lo que pagas.

Excellent. Just one complaint: the power cord supplied with the power supply is of a US type and won't fit SA plugs. I had to buy another. Monitor itself is excellent

Was a super solid monitor, never had any issues with it.
