GM Genuine Parts 15-20189 (88964862) Air Conditioning Compressor and Clutch Assembly

Works great on my chevy c1500 1993 4.3lAlso try to replace the A/C Accumulator and condenser and u will love your vehicle again. Pleople complains that it failed or get hot well maybe they ignored that there are two other parts to replace. If the condenser that looks like the radiator is blocked by the dirtiness then is obviously that this compressor will fail soon or later again. I replaced all these 3 parts and my a/c is like a brand new vehicle.also noticed a big difference on my engine's performance. It doesn't feel forced like it did before. Spend a little more money but do the job right. If you just replace one old part is like buying a brand new radiator and filling it with your old antifreeze with dirt and any other contaminants which will fail soon or later. Same thing with the A/C system.

AC Delco is a quality part. Very quiet when running. Might cost a little more. But well worth it . Had to switch over the high pressure cut out switch. New compressor just had a plug installed. Just a snap ring removed and swaped switch to new compressor. Don't forget the oil. It comes dry.

The compressor works but the pulley bearing is failing. It squeaks and chirps and will eventually fail, destroying the belt and leaving my daughter stranded somewhere. I've tried to find out how to warranty the compressor as GM has a 12 month warranty on them but that seems impossible to do when buying on Amazon. BUYER BEWARE

This compressor is an exact fit for my 1994 Chevy K1500. Be sure to follow instructions and add the correct amount of oil. Puts out a lot of cold air and is quiet. 8 oz of total oil in the system. 32 oz of R134A. If you flush the total system add 8 oz of oil. If you don't flush all components in the system, need to account for oil in remaining components that were not flushed and subtract from 8 oz.

Perfect fit and can’t go wrong with “genuine” product…unfortunately I had to learn this after trying to save money with “lesser” brand. First one (x brand) failed within first 10 days…won’t happen again as will always search and buy “genuine” no matter initial cost…

I installed one of these compressors over two years ago and it has continued to work perfectly. A major part of satisfactory compressor life is prior preparation. Insure that the system be properly flushed and dried and recharged using recommended lubricants and procedures. I also recommend installing after-market protection filter screens on the compressor suction and discharge ports to avoid damage by residual contamination. Yes, this is a lot more work but experience has proven this to be well worth the effort.

Would have been 5 stars but it did not have the pressure switch on the back like the original compressor. I had to transfer the switch over to the new compressor. Other than that the compressor works great.

Installed a week ago, fit and works perfectly on my 95 Chevy k1500 5.7. Just remember to add 2 oz of PAG 150 oil to the compressor.
