Can you use these on normal speakers? And do the speaker have to be powered?

I used these connectors to plug unpowered small satellite speakers to a powered woofer/amplifier driven by a 3.5mm. feed from a large TV. The system was originally intended for use with a computer and was much cheaper than a Soundbar! As such it works well with perfectly adequate volume. Most unpowered speakers have large screw on connectors and are driven by fairly high ampere currents which would probably be too much for the RCA plug/socket combination. that being said, if your amplifier has RCA output sockets then these plugs will be suitable.

What is the distance between the input holes? I want to plug in a turntable ground cable
