It’s Two Great Sanders in One
THIS IS ONE OF SEVERAL PRODUCTS I PURCHASED AS A RETIREMENT GIFT FOR A HIGHLY TALENTED WOODWORKING FRIEND. YOU MAY SEE OTHER PRODUCT REVIEWS WITH SIMILAR OPENING REMARKS. PRODUCT SPECIFICS ARE WITHIN. PLEASE READ ON. One of my best friends recently retired from his position at the local school district after 31 years and decided to leverage his woodworking skills as a supplemental income. I have watched him painstakingly cut, whittle, carve, and assemble blocks of wood, old tree stumps, or even limbs into everything from beautiful wooden bowls to pipes to pens to tables to other pieces of furniture and everything in between. Being one of those people that endeavors to help everyone, I took it upon myself to assemble him a set of bench top wood working power tools. I decided on VEVOR based on my personal experience with the brand and neither of us could be happier. One of those bench top woodworking power tools is this VEVOR Combination Sander (1” x 30” belt sander plus a 5” disc sander). Like all VEVOR products I’ve purchased in their woodworking series of bench power tools, this combo sander is built from quality materials. It’s a combination of metal and high density thermo plastic. It’s built tough and made to last. I’m pleased to say that it even has some features generally only found in higher end (full size) tools. This sander is perfect for the crafts my friend makes. It’s powered by a 250 watt motor and the split operation of the drive itself provides for 3450 RPM at the disc and a more sedate 1350 RPM at the belt. Each surface and speed is suited to different sanding tasks. The unit has highly adjustable disc table and it provides great flexibility in angle (up to 45 degrees) for most jobs. The tool even ships with a miter gauge to help with precision grinding work. I noticed when setting it up that you can attach your shop vacuum or dust collector to help manage sawdust contamination in your workshop (I only wish my kids would learn how to use a vacuum, in the shop or otherwise. But I digress). Stability wise, I wasn’t expecting the sander to be as solid as it is given its relatively compact size. It’s solid metal base is quite sturdy and it’s rubber feet provide vibration dampening. I’ve had rotating sanders and improperly attached grinders “wander” off workbenches in the past but not this one. Those rubber feet help prevent “wandering” and machine creep. The sander is easy to use once you have it set up. Simply adjust your tables as appropriate to your job, attach your shop vac or dust collector, turn the machine on, and go. It’s really that easy. Please don’t forget PPE appropriate to sanding. At a very minimum, wear goggles (or a face shield), a dust mask (or respirator), and keep loose clothing away from moving surfaces. This combo sander may look small but it’s not a toy. This sander was an excellent addition to my friend’s woodworking shop. It’s fairly priced and delivers. That’s value in my book. Of course the real proof is in the improved speed it helps bring to his small business production. Since setting up his Vevor mini-woodworking power tools, he’s quadrupled his output and that’s helping his business grow. I cannot ask for anything more and I’d not hesitate to order this tool again.

VEVOR Professional Belt Sander, 8" Disc Sander and 4 x 36 in. Belt Sander model BD4083
When everything is working it is a great product (I did not compare it to $500+ models). I found out that there are 2 main models (by all vendors) the one from Rayobi, Harbor Fright, skill, etc. and the second type by Vevor, backtool, ricon, porter cable. the first type are driven by belt and use 6" disk, the second type use direct drive, and 8" disk. The belt tension arm look very similar between the two types, All made in china. Reading many reviews I ruled out type 1, that use belt for the motor to spin the disk and sanding belt. Adding another part that will go bad after reasonable use. and also loss of power between the motor and the grinding wheels. I ordered the Vevor BD4083 for $169, as similar units were $210, $279 and $249. The BD4083 came with disk plate that was not flat, and about 2mm higher on one side. While waiting for the company to send another disk, I got the porter cable from Lowe's (that comes with 3 years warranty). Open the box of Porter cable unit, the disk was bent about 5mm on one side, completely unusable. I took it back. I did get the 8" disk plate from Vevor, and it is flat, and both the disk and the belt works great. I used it with hard wood, 80 grid belt, and 120grit on the disk, it works better than expected. Both trays are stable, and do not move or change angle. the differences in type #2 brands brands is the price, some use aluminum sanding belt drive, other use made of plastic (Vevor use plastic, Porter cabe Aluminum), the vacuum attach ports is different between the brands , and base made of metal or cast iron, (Vevor use metal base). On the Vevor, you can pull out the sanding belt easy, no disconnecting parts/tray to pull out. on the porter cable, you need to use a screw driver to pull the cover to remove the belt. On the bucktool and Ricon 50-114 you have to remove the tray. The dust collection port is different between the brands, but when grinding dust covers everything anyhow. the belt 4x36 and the 8" disk that come with the unit are high quality. I did get fast response from Vevor reps, almost daily e-mail. I do recommend the BD4083 The Vevor BD4083 is powerful machine, good value for you money, direct drive (no driving belt). I wish that the trays would be similar to the Porter cable, or use standard miter channel.

It's cheap and it works, it's not amazing
For the price, you get what you pay for. It works, but the whole little contraption (I have the 3-in-1) vibrates around on the table, and it feels like it'll try to eat my hand just turning it on! Also, speed control is based on a switch on the power supply, from 12-24V, which is a little clunky compared to a knob or something on the unit itself. The polishing wheel seems like it's an afterthought, and when you put any pressure on any part, it gets a little shifty. But that's all I expected. I need to sand down a few little parts from time to time, and this thing fits in a rolling cabinet drawer, it doesn't take up much space, and it's easy for tiny parts. Comes with a number of belts, which is good because they're not amazing quality either :)

This is a toy, that does the little things. I like it. Think apartment sized hobby tool.
You know how you buy something that almost fits. This can fix that..... Due to the speed control you can sand plastic, wood or metal with this. I'm not talking a big piece being removed, just a minor amount. Or just to clean to up the edge by eye. Sharpen a tool or polish a minor part. Great companion for the Dremel tool, Yes, it's that small.

Buy replacement belts. Do not buy this sander
It's a little noisey but that's expected. I really love this thing, especially after all the hand sanding I've done, the current belt on it is so gummed up but this thing keeps ripping material beautifully. Definitely buy more belts and disks as the one that comes with it does not last at all but that's not a surprise. The workplate is tiny so idk suggest making one. Update. It stopped working and tech support is a joke. Do not buy. I will not be buying anymore vevor products

its ok for what you pay, don't expect a lot
I gave it as a gift (he asked for it), a little underpowered, and one side of the shaft is threaded the wrong direction, so when it spins, it can loosen the wheel. You can fix this with a drop or 2 of Loctite

Compact, efficient, as advertised
Compact, speed control located on cable and multiple speed combined with 180 sandpaper grit shaped pad in 20 minutes ( going slow). With grinder and buffing pad, easily can polish/sharpen knives. Bought an extra pack of assorted grit belts which go down to1000 grit. Easily worth the 40 bucks to just shape the buttpad using Wheeler support tool.

Great 4 home use
Folks, I very seldom leave reviews, but this is the exception. There were a few reviews that were so negative about the seller advertising an 8'' disc that the seller sends them out with a 6'' disc, a video with defective information indicated vsam, and way down the page confirmed the negativity & defectiveness suggestion that there will be a 6'' disc arriving. I contacted the seller, and they stated that their information at the top of the page was correct about this machine having an 8'' disc. Well, out of a great many I considered, this machine is the only one with great features, so I ordered one. Well, the bloody box actually says a 6'' disc, but guess what... there was found an 8'' disc! This machine operates really great, and I have tweaked some projects already. I am a master union craftsman, & I highly recommend this unit!!! It operates with smoothness, is not very loud, and the size is compact. There is one tiny issue... The black plastic guard for the 8'' disc, snugging up the screws, putting it back on, will crack the guard from the screw holes to the edge. Easy does it. Still a great machine, get ya one!!! Oh, BTW, I found an orange Allen Wrench and added cable straps to hold the wrench.

Combo sander well worth it
I am very happy with this sander, I have used both the disc and the belt and found them to be a great resource. I have sharpened knives on it and like the way when using the belt sander I can set it to an angle that is comfortable for me to hold the knives. I make hexagonal game boards and it is so nice to use the large 12 disk to quickly finish the sides of the boards down to size. Plenty of power, pretty quiet and I recommend it.
