Stops working after a couple of months of usage
I have bought and returned this item over 5 times. Amazon is great about the returns and have even gotten insurance on it but this last purchase it wasn't even an option to get. I really like the large countdown clock for my classroom and I just don't like that it stops working. Yes, I'm the only one that touches it. Students aren't allowed and yes, I do put in new batteries to see if it's that. It's the gears.

With and without sound, useful, aesthetically pleasing
Indeed, you can take the sound off (I know it's a trigger for many, and this one offers the possibility to use it only visually, with or without sound). Visually, it's not stressful (I got this color because it does stand out but doesn't overstimulate me, and as I just feel harmony looking at it, I remember to use it more...)
