Great desk for the price!
I really love this desk, it's very sturdy and it looks great. I don't think the picture does it justice. The color is looks a lot different in person I think, I'd say it's a noticeably deeper color, however, that's my opinion. It arrived very quickly, much quicker than we anticipated and it was easy to put together although it did take a lot longer than I expected. We ran into a few very small problems with it, such as it was missing literally one screw but it was simple to move past that and there was no affect on the final product. The one problem that was quite frustrating was the drawer. It sounds stupid but ours gave us a hard time to put together and didn't want to fit in the slot. We we're able to work it out though. The final product looks great and I love it especially for the price. I definitely recommend this to anyone that doesn't need a ton of desk space, but needs enough for a larger screen and tower, and also wants enough extra space to hold games, books, pictures, or whatever else.

so first of all this comes in a box that's like 6 X 20 X 48 high and it weighs ...
Okay, so first of all this comes in a box that's like 6 X 20 X 48 high and it weighs as much as a fourth grade boy. You're like "it's all in that one box"? and then you try to pick it up, and the mystery is solved. Creative packaging at its finest. I wimped out on putting the thing together the day I ordered it, had that job ear marked for my SIL but after it sat around in the box for a few days I decided to attempt it. I dragged the box to my room and set about unpacking, and identifying. The first three hours went swimmingly, primarily because I could do all of it up to that point sitting on my heiney in my recliner. After I had to get up and bend and crawl around on the floor to attach screws to the inside of the partially completed desk it started to get annoying, but if you're not old and fat and out of shape it probably won't be so bad for you. Complaints: The round cam thingies tend to loosen and have to be retigntened and I'm really not sure how many are loose again now that it's set up ... I'm kinda of relying on gravity to hold it all together and I wouldn't think about picking it up and moving it. Also there are a couple steps that could be added to the instructions to make final applications easier, like installing the kick plate under the door and the trim strip under the little drawer. The little plastic brace parts could have been installed in advance. And I have no freaking idea what purpose the hidden cams serve on the drawer slides ... they're on there but I have no idea why. Pluses: It looks just like the photo and feels sturdy when those cam things are good and tight, it took about four and a half hours to put together, but I wasn't rushing it. The instructions are crystal clear but this is not my first DIY furniture piece, just the biggest. In summary, it's like child birth, if enough time goes by I might forget the pain and attempt it again, but if you asked me today, I would have one delivered in one piece. Oh, and good luck getting the screws into the plastic braces on part B. Fair warning.

Recommend purchase.
I had a similar model of this desk for over 35 years. The newer desk was assembled but with a minor assembly issue on my part. The customer service representative, Deb, timely responded not only via email but by phone also. Her assistance was most helpful.

Functional, Small, Cheap
I purchased this for use in a bedroom both to hold a TV and to use as a laptop docking station. It is perfectly adequate for the task, and looks alright in the space, but that's about as far as I'll go. Assembly: When it arrived, the box was extremely heavy. I was putting it upstairs, and I had to open the box and carry the pieces up individually. The assembly took a long time, but wasn't terribly difficult. You do need to be careful not to accidentally punch out the large perforated block in the back panel, designed for a tube TV to stick out the back. It isn't expensive, and it shows. Besides the typical flimsy back panel, some of the front pieces don't fit as precisely as I would expect. Nothing that anyone is likely to notice if they haven't just spent a hour or two assembling it, though. The real downside to this is the size. I'm sure the dimensions are exactly what the specs say, but that doesn't give you a real feel for what you're getting. The shelves have very little depth. For example, even a tiny new Blu Ray player barely fits on the shelf above the TV. If you want to put a typical full-sized cable box there, forget it. Likewise, the side shelves are not only shallow, but they're quite narrow. If you want to use this with a printer or have a place to put a laptop, there's a wider version of this same item that would better suit that use.
