I bought this to recreate spark plug wires for 1:24 scale model cars. It is perfect size and can be shaped well. Enough to last a lifetime for my use. Colors are bold.

Great for projects

This wire is excellent quality. Worked perfect for my Xbox 360 rgh3 job. comes with plenty on the roll and great color choice. Strips easy. Doesn't break. Nice and flexible. Good value for the price. Very easy to use.

Let’s start with what I like about this product. It works very well for repairing PCB boards, whether that’s using only the wire without the insulation to resolve broken traces or in helping to fix a lifted pad. It works equally well as a solution to run new wires instead of repairing traces, e.g. trace being too far gone, as you could run the wire directly to a test point or similar. The wire is thin by design as 30 AWG wire should be very thin, that’s why it works so well for repairing broken PCB boards. I also have no gripes with the wire itself as the insulation seems decent enough, the wire is easy to work with, it’s durable, and the selection of colors is extremely useful. My only issue with this wire is how sloppy it’s wound around the plastic core as it just wont stay put once removed from the plastic wrapping. I get that there are 8 different colors, so we’re not talking about one long 250m wire that could be neatly wrapped during manufacturing. Instead, it looks like there are eight separate pieces of wire that’s each 31.25m long, and they are all wrapped in parallel. Of course that may not wrap as neatly, but the manufacturer could have simply wrapped it a bit tighter, used a slightly larger plastic core, etc. Aside from looking sloppy and being more difficult to store, it also makes me wonder if we are truly getting a total of 250m. It’s not like I am going to measure the lengths of wire, but I am going to remove a single star because this is just sloppy and not a very professional appearance. Overall, I will recommend this product as it’s surprisingly decent wire, although it does look like a mess on the spool. I also like the fact that there are eight different colors making it extremely useful. Additionally, it’s a very versatile wire, and 30 AWG is definitely one that you should have in your collection if you ever even touch a PCB. Lastly, coming in at under $9, you just can’t beat the price.
