APC UPS 1000VA/600W Pure Sine Wave UPS for Computer, Electronics, BR1000MS

I purchased this APC 1000VA sine wave UPS to safeguard my PC and networking equipment from the frequent power fluctuations and occasional outages prevalent in my area. It has effectively fulfilled my requirements. The setup process is straightforward, although you must connect the internal battery upon unboxing. The front LCD display is genuinely helpful, providing a quick overview of load, line voltage, and estimated runtime, eliminating the need for guesswork. In terms of performance, the UPS swiftly switches over during power outages, ensuring that my router/modem and computer equipment remain operational for an extended period, allowing me to endure short interruptions or safely shut down the devices. The AVR feature is a valuable addition, as it smooths out voltage dips without depleting the battery excessively. Additionally, I appreciate the extra features, such as the ample number of outlets and the presence of USB-A and USB-C ports on the front, which facilitate charging a phone in a pinch. The outlet spacing can be cramped if you have bulky power bricks, Not deal-breaker for me, but it is worth being aware of. Overall, this UPS appears to be a reliable and well-constructed device from a brand with a long history in the industry. If you prioritize clean sine wave power for sensitive electronics and seek protection against everyday power issues, this UPS is an excellent choice.

Easy to set-up and well made. Had no problem turning off alarm feature which we did not need. We are using this to keep our Starlink and television powered while switching over to generator power during an outage. Also to protect both electronics from brownouts or surges. Very intuitive power monitoring, battery power level and time remaining displays.

I got this to replace an older and dumber 600VA model that I was having issues out of even after replacing the battery. I figured why play around with something that should last a long time? I'm using it to power a smallish file server that runs 4 HDDs and 2 SSDs, along with a couple external bays. Normally pulls about 65-85w (according to the UPS) depending on what it's doing, so it'll run way longer than I'd ever need it to on the battery. I'm not sure how accurate the estimated time is but it's definitely better than my old one with only a single battery. I've been very happy with it and just bought a second one for another computer I just built. My only real complaint is that I'd prefer it to stay on the wattage display at all times or at the very least stay on what I set it to, but any time there's an "event" where the UPS kicks on, it resets the display.

There are a few choices when it comes to battery backups. I've used APC before, we use them exclusively at work to be a redundant fail safe before the standby generator kicks on (public safety critical infrastructure). This item was packed VERY securely inside paper-crate type molded form. Unpacking and set up was very easy and straight forward. I've read a fair number of reviews that indicate the battery never activated upon power outage, well, the unit is shipped disconnected, you need to connect the positive wire to the positive terminal on the battery. It is a very simple and straightforward removal of cover and push connection. I wonder how many folks unbox and plug in without reading the complete instructions? Either way, I hooked everything up, let it sit charging for appx 24 hours and tested it by unplugging it from the AC outlet. Surprise! it worked as planned. Audile alarm indicating the unit was on battery back up (you can silence that), and a readout of how long I had remaining on the unit (I only had a laptop plugged in, so it was a while). I'm at the point with my local power company that I'm putting battery back ups on all my sensitive electronics.. I'll be buying more of these. EDIT 1/11/23: After approximately 20 months of use in a very limited backup capacity (covering quick outages of 5 minutes or less maybe 50 times)- while getting My machine powered on for work this morning, this battery backup failed spectacularly. Hot burning electrical smell coupled with a loud popping sound and steady tone audible, and "F02" displayed on the front of the unit. Best part, the small electrical fire I could see in the top of the unit. I learned a few things this morning: 1) it doesn't take me any time to unplug the 4 things there were plugged into it 2) opening a window that quickly is a skill I didn't know I had 3) I can navigate a small house fire with quick thinking and reactions. 4)The burning electrical smell hangs in the air for hours afterwards. Approximately 20 months of flawless use. 5 minutes of hair raising disposal. This unit was used to provide backup power a desktop computer (workstation, not high end gaming by any means) a monitor, router, and cable modem.

Decent quality backup with easy battery replacement capability. Screen is easy to see. While simply plugged into hood AC line, unit draws 35 watts of power to stay alive, much less than my previous Eaton and Cyberpower units. However when triggered by line loss, this APC delivers FULL POWER SUBSTITUTE AC even if your PC is shut off. Thus the battery power will deplete in a couple of hours of non-usage.

I originally got this back in September 2019. This device made the Snowpocalypse of 2021 more bearable by being a source to power my phone during a few hours-long blackouts (24 hours total). And of course it helped through much shorter blackouts by maintaining my connectivity. It's now March 2026 and I started hearing the endless beeping indicating a dead battery today. That's 6.5 years of battery life - not bad. I'm very happy with this level of performance and I'm ordering the battery replacement now (APCRBC160), which is roughly half the price of a new unit. Totally worth it.

For the first few months of my ownership, I was short the USB-to-RJ60 cable that allowed me to connect it through to my machine. APC chose to stupidly use a totally non-standard cable set, THEN lost control of their supply chain and apparently couldn't actually PRODUCE these cables. So, they just stopped including them in the boxes and hoped nobody would notice. If you DID notice, it took MONTHS and constant reminders before they finally shipped a cable out. I should have returned it then. But, otherwise, for the rest of the year, it had been well-behaved. It is MUCH quieter than other models -- no constant fan noise. The display is well-thought-out and shows a ton of really useful information. The review would end here with 4 stars except for the most recent failure. You buy an Uninterruptible Power Supply for ONE reason. The clue is in the name. However, a few days ago, it just BAM! shut off all its power, started a shrieking alarm and displayed F06 on the display. Internet searches seem to suggest this means that the relays inside have started welding their contacts together and this is a common problem. That's hard to believe. I'm running mine at about 10% load. It's not struggling at all. So, I cleared the error, plugged everything back in, fortunately, didn't lose any data on the server or NAS is was running. An hour later, it crashed out again in the same way. I've cut a ticket with APC, but they recommend that you chat with them because they're ignoring email. I'm not kidding. So I tried to chat with them. I filled in a long form with information about the product, got to the end and their chat program just said, "You chat has been cancelled because there's nobody to chat with you." I don't have to tell you that the telephone support is a total non-starter. No, I think this is my last APC product. I'm told I should look at Eaton devices instead.

Love this thing. The peace of mind from it is so worth it. I've watched it save my PC many times now during storms. Just built brand new Core Ultra 7 and this thing is perfect. Love the data logs too. I've had bad luck over the years with mobos going out and I'm pretty sure it was not having one of these to save it. Get one if you're serious about your PC.

I bought this to replace a 1500 I had that is nearly 10 years old and the display wasn't working very well. This unit is smaller and lighter but my power requirements for the system have decreased with age also. Appreciate the sine function of this UPS so it's a good value. The battery bay is a lot more intelligent than the previous one so replacement will be a breeze but the batteries are stuck together end to end rather than side by side so duct tape may be required. Display is a nice to look at white LED which isn't super bright which is perfect for dark places, but is visible under near direct sunlight also. No CD's or included software so you'll need to go online to download the management software, but its only required if you plan to do automatic shutdown when on battery. It has two ethernet ports for connecting your ISP modem on the IN and your computer on the OUT. I wouldn't use this in a larger network environment but if you have this stand alone in a remote location I think this is pretty handy. I did not test it but the idea seems reasonable. My system is a 1000W powered beast with high end video cards and powerful CPU's and even some 3.5" drives, though I'll be eliminating these shortly, and I should get about 67 minutes standby on this. No monitors or other devices are plugged into this but it has ample space if you need 6 Battery/Surge and 4 Surge plugs should be enough for this guy. Overall very happy with this and hope to enjoy it for years to come.

The APC 1000VA Back-UPS Pro(BR1000MS) is true sine wave, at less than 2 brown notes, with a 1080 Joules surge protection. This kicks into the battery fast enough that my computer doesn't even stutter, even during a brown out. Front mounted USB-C and USB-A ports are convenient for charging cellular and external battery while protecting those valuable devices. In terms of value, the BR1000MS is comparably priced with the BR1000G and BR700G but with almost 3 times the surge protection and the BR1000MS has true sine wave instead of stepped approximation of sine wave that most other uninterruptible power supplies in this price range have. Sensitive electronic devices really appreciate the true sine wave as it is exactly the same as the juice coming from the wall outlet. APC has been in the game for a long time and their products are the gold standard which most other UPS are compared against. This UPS is not an exception to that and is a great value for these features!

I bought this unit about a month or two ago. This unit stood out in it's features: Pure sine wave conversion, ample outlets, decent runtime, etc. I personally bought it as the power where I live is kinda unreliable, and I wanted to increase the lifespan of my electronics. It arrived a few days sooner than expected to my delight. The UPS had been placed in a larger amazon box which allowed it to tumble around during shipping. Upon unboxing the larger amazon box, the UPS's box was slightly beat up, but nothing super unusual. I plugged in the UPS, and it seemed to be defective as seen in the attached video. The UPS arrived with quality control test results attached, but it had passed those tests. Contacting APC by email for a RMA was futile. However, they have a 1 on 1 live chat, and I was able to be connected to a support agent within a minute. After an hour, I was told I would be given a RMA number and shipping label to ship the defective unit back in exchange for a fresh one. The shipping label arrived by email several days later, which sucked. They didn't give a tracking number for the new unit, but I was able to request it by going to the live chat once again. After a solid month after first ordering from amazon, the new unit arrived. It seems to work well, though the battery on the unit seems worse. The old unit, while defective, reported 250 minutes with nothing plugged in. The new one only gave 125 minutes, but I wasn't about to send it back again. Otherwise, the new unit works well. I also set up the included software, PowerChute. The software lacks some features and hasn't really been updated. It works for my use of monitoring power draw. Do note that plugging a power bar that isn't made by APC in the output of the unit WILL void the Equipment Protection Policy, aka the one that will give you up to $250k if your equipment is damaged by the unit. TL:DR; Customer service is great if you contact them via live chat, quality control on APC's end seems fine, their included software kinda sucks, their email response time is pretty bad, and the unit is overall great.

I am running this and have the battery back up taking care of my TV, ps5, ps4, and sound bar. The power seems to go out from time to time in my city and it was starting to mess with my ps5, and 4. Often leading to disk repairs being performed. Also the power going out resets all the settings on my sound bar. So I moved the tv, sound bar and , ps4 and 5 to the battery back up. The network switch and fans for the entertainment centre off the non back up side. So far when the power goes out everything does what it is suppose to do. In the event of power lose well using all these devices it gives enough time to power them down safely or put into standby mode where I can easily get about 180 min in standby. I also like that it has logged events.
