Great for checking the wear on brake pads.

It's solid metal, feels heavy, works well and easy to use! Though it was slightly difficult to separate out the one you want but that can probably be solved by slightly loosen up the bolt. Not sure how thick the coating is. It might get rusty once there's scratches on the coating.

The device is made metal so it can take some abuse. The screw holding the various measuring devices together is stiff and keeps everything on place. Look on YouTube for tutorials on how to use the device. Note this devices gives you an estimate of how much brake pads you have left not an exact number. However am estimate is all you really need.

Makes checking your brake pads more precise

Nice solid set. I used my caliper to check the size. I only will use these when pads are nearing replacement. Since the dealership and or repair shop always are saying pads are nearing replacement of 2/32". So this is perfect tool for the tool box and a great price.
