I love this knife! It feels great in my hand, had sufficient weight to cut but not too heavy that it makes my hand tired. It came with a sharpening stone which is "cool" but not really practical in todays world. Overall, this is a great general use knife. Ease of use is great, cleanse up easy and is an attractive looking piece of cutlery.

PROS: o Affordable o Sharp o Balance seems good o Good, heavy blade for more demanding chopping jobs o Bolster serves as a good quillon to keep fingers from accidentally riding up onto blade CONS: o Tang protrudes ever so slightly outside of handle margins o Rivet heads protrude ever so slightly outside of handle Would I recommend this to a friend: Yes I had narrowed down my search for an 8 inch chef's knife to this one, and the Rada French Chef's knife. Unfortunately, the reviews of the Rada knife, while extolling its virtues as a good knife, mentioned that its blade is not as heavy as one would want for more demanding chopping. I was attracted to this particular knife by the fact that the blade does NOT belly out from the bolster before tapering to the point, it is affordable, and it has a nice, heavy bolster. Reviews also indicated that it comes very sharp. It did not disappoint in that regard. The blade is very robust and I like it very much, overall. My only nitpicks are that the fit and finish of the handle to the tang and rivets is not quite what I would like. I realize that, for the price, I shouldn't expect perfection. And the minor lack of attention in this aspect certainly doesn't affect the function of the knife. Just a bit of a disappointment, and why I knocked off a star. Overall, it will do the job well, and I expect, for the rest of my life.

I bought this obviously for my father for Father’s Day. He loved it so much he put it in frame.
