Amazon Basics Gel Odor Eliminator, Activated Charcoal, Lavender Scent, 17 Oz, 1-Pack

I purchased these to help freshen up my dad's house while I was there doing a deep clean. He's older, lives over 12 hours away from me, and has a hard time keeping up with household chores, so I'm only able to help him with a major cleaning about once a year. I was really happy with how well these worked in smaller rooms. They noticeably freshened the air and helped those spaces smell much cleaner. In the larger areas of the house, I didn't notice as much of a difference. That said, the odors in the home were pretty substantial, so I don't think that's necessarily the product's fault. Those larger spaces likely needed more than a gel odor eliminator alone to fully address the smell. Overall, I think this is a good product for bathrooms, bedrooms, closets, or other smaller spaces where you want a little extra odor control. It definitely served its purpose in those areas, and I'd consider buying it again for similar uses.

I like these type of absorbers and have used many different brands in the past. These have lasted the longest and been most effective. As much as I like Ozium, I have switched to these. They’re cheaper and last much longer and do a significantly better job at containing odors. You forget they’re even there because they’re scentless while their ability to absorb orders incredible it’s the lack of odor that end up being the reminder. I like that they come in packs. I put one in my car and one in my living room. The noticeable differences happen within the day and mine have lasted a month if not more already.

I bought a backpack off ebay that smelled like smoke I couldn't return. I left this in the backpack in a trashbag outside for a couple days and it really helped to get rid of most the odor. Slightly there but much more faint! The only reason I put 4 stars is that it says fragrance free but there is a perfume smell to it.

We have a wood burning fireplace. During certain weather conditions, the ashy odor permeates the house. We have the chimney cleaned seasonally, but to no avail. We thought that maybe this product would help. Nope not exactly. We actually sprayed FeBreeze into the cavity along with the gel odor eliminator. Between those two actions, the campfire ash smell seems in control. NOTE- We would never, EVER use this or FeBreeze during the wood burning season. This is strictly for the non -burning months.

This gel odor eliminator works exactly as advertised. It does a great job absorbing unwanted odors instead of masking them with heavy fragrances, which is exactly what I was looking for. I've used it in closets, bathrooms, and other small spaces, and it has noticeably reduced stale odors while remaining completely fragrance free. It's easy to place anywhere and requires no maintenance. For the price, it's an excellent value and lasts longer than I expected. If you want a simple, effective way to keep small spaces smelling fresh without adding perfumes or artificial scents, I highly recommend it.

This odor eliminator is the best option to keep the room and spaces odor-free! I started using these in the room where we keep our pets and the result was very surprising! The long-lingering odor of pets was completely gone within one hour! It is such a relief! Prior to discovering this easy and NOT cost-prohibitive solution, I've tried a few other brands. Some of them were not as effective, some left unpleasant scent in the room. This one proved to be the best so far. I also use one in each under- the sink space in the kitchen and bathrooms. Great product, I would recommend it!

I have purchased these many times and they work great, but you can't expect them to work immediately. It takes a bit of time to activate. You will want to open them and set them out ASAP so they can warm up and get ready for business. Remember, it can't absorb/clear every inch of air in your room etc in 1hr. They do last a long time though for me.

There are plenty of options of these at the stores, but none of them are unscented, which is what I was aiming for. I can't be 100% sure they are doing anything, but I do keep one near the trash can and another in the car. I will say that the gel only evaporates if it's warm out, so in the winter, the gel wasn't changing in volume. I do think the activated charcoal is effective overall, but I wish they were bigger.
