Shirley Coconut Macaroon Cookie Mix

These macaroons are amazing! We made them for a reception and we're still getting raves about them.Very simple to make. Just add water - mix (we opted not to use a mixer) - let rest for 5 min - scoop - and bake. We added a little bit more water (1-2 Tb) than called for and baked them 20degrees less than called for and they turned out INCREDIBLE! The scooping part can get a bit sticky but nothing that warm water can't fix. :)Our pans were lined with silpat liners. We let the cookies cool on the pan for 1 minute before using a metal spatula to transfer to cooling racks. Once cooled we drizzled them with melted chocolate.Total hit! We'll be getting more.

I started to mix a batch of cookies from scratch, but then decided on this mix. I wasn't sure it was going to taste anything like I remember but I took a chance. They are excellent. It's so simple to make them. Just add water. I am going to take a batch to my next office party. They brought back memories of my childhood.

All you need to do is add water, stir, then bake. Wonderful chewy, flavorful , cookies. I did not flatten them and I made them about 1/2 the recommended size. Came out just as remember from my grandmother. I prefer to make just a few at a time, less gobbling, and more enjoyment of the flavor.

Recipe instructions were easy to follow. Think that not all ovens work the same one needs to pay attention to cooking time.

Wow. Tastes like the macaroons my mom made back in the 1950's. A definite do again.

I ordered this at the end of March. Went to use it tonight and saw that the package actually expired on 12-29-19!!!
