Looks great- good weight. Spyglass works decently. Case looks great but is thin- I wouldn't trust the straps.

This brass spyglass exceeded my expectations as both a decorative piece and functional tool. While it's not going to replace modern optics, I was pleasantly surprised that it actually works for basic distance viewing - though you'll need to adjust it slightly inward from full extension for the clearest image. My only minor gripe is that the finish looks a bit too manufactured to pass as truly antique. It's found a permanent home on my study shelf, where it never fails to spark conversations with visitors.

Super, super nice spyglass. I can't view far enough off to actually get it to work as I have houses that surround me. However, the details on this are beautiful and authentic looking. It is great for a costume or Renaissance Festival. I'm going to figure out a way to make a leather Belt holster for it so I can wear it and show it off as it is just that beautiful. It is very heavy though so keep that in mind.
