various telescopic options make it a bit fiddly to adjust but otherwise a solid addition to the mic stand.

After trying multiple boom arms over the years, I keep coming back to Gator products—and for good reason. The Gator Frameworks Telescoping Boom Arm is hands down one of the most solid and reliable options out there, especially if you’re working with heavier mics like the Shure SM7B or Rode PodMic. What really stands out is the build quality. This arm feels sturdy and well-engineered, with zero wobble or sag even when fully extended. The telescoping feature gives you great flexibility for positioning, and the tension adjustments are smooth and precise. It’s clear that Gator designed this with durability in mind, which is something I can’t say for a lot of other arms I’ve tested. If you’re tired of flimsy arms that can’t handle the weight of professional mics, this is the upgrade you need. Gator consistently delivers on quality, and this boom arm is no exception.

Mi serviva un'asta a giraffa corta, che non poggiasse terra col treppiede solito ma che fosse agganciabile ad un supporto metallico verticale. L'ho realizzata con questa giraffa insieme al clamp/asta CLMPBM9, anch'esso Gator Frameworks. Il risultato è esattamente quello che mi serviva, ed ho subito acquistato un altro di entrambi. Tornando all'oggetto in questione, ottima fattura, compatta, leggera, verniciatura apparentemente resistente. Molto soddisfatto.

La partie coulissante est vraiment d'un petit diamètre, donc entièrement déployée avec un micro lourd (style studio) elle se courbe légèrement comme une canne à pêche. Le côté coulissant reste cependant pratique pour diminuer l'encombrement (50 cm replié, 80 déplié) et si ce n'est pas déplié à fond, c'est relativement rigide. Concernant la vis centrale, il faut vraiment serrer très, très fort, dans mon cas, pour éviter que la perche ne bascule sous le poids, mais pour l'instant ça ne bouge plus. Comme c'est pour une installation fixe, ce n'est pas un problème pour moi, mais sauf à utiliser un micro léger (style scène), si vous devez serrer et desserrer souvent pas sûr que ça tienne la distance. Matériel très léger (vraiment ne pèse rien), ce qui selon ce que vous recherchez peut être un plus, ou un défaut. Très bien emballé, aucun risque qu'il ne s'abîme et livraison ultra-rapide. Ça reste un très bon rapport qualité prix.

You would think that these don't look like the oldie goldie mic stands with chromed metal rods and metal hinge material/hefty weights on the end. You might order them anyway, thinking the price is right and how bad can they be? I did. But I've been impressed in the couple of months I've used these. I'm hanging Shure SM58 mics on them and they're solid! The friction is VERY adjustable. They don't need to be honked on with a pair of pliers like the old metal ones had to be sometimes. The wire management clips are great. The price is right. I love 'em!
