Every sketcher should have atleast one P36, SERIOUSLY....
The Asvine P36 fountain pen is a smooth and stylish pen I bought for sketching. It has a clear acrylic body with titanium alloy that makes it light and durable. It has a screw-on cap that secures the nib and prevents it from drying out. It has a Bock nib that can create different line widths and shades with ease. It writes well on various types of papers. It has a piston-filling mechanism that allows me to use bottled ink only, but it has a large ink capacity. It had a hard start at first, but it flowed smoothly and consistently after a few strokes. It has a comfortable weight and balance that feels good in the hand. I give this pen four out of five stars and recommend it to sketchers who want a versatile pen. I also want to mention the seller’s help and customer care, which were excellent. They responded quickly to my queries and gave me useful tips on how to use and maintain the pen. They were friendly and professional, and I would buy from them again.

Superb
I've had this almost 18 months now and it's superb. I probably use it more than any other pen. It looks great, even nicer than in the pictures. The nib is good, no problems whatsoever and nice to write with. The piston works really well. It's practical - I take it to work with me and it's great because it holds loads of ink and being a demonstrator, you can see how much is left. Plus it's really well made, I've never had any leaks or ink in the cap etc. I would highly recommend!

A well-designed, ergonomic fountain pen. Edit: However, not without a significant niggling issue.
Edit: One star knocked off from my original review. After a few weeks use, I've noted that each time I've refilled the P36 with fresh ink, it struggled to give a smooth performance. For example, black ink comes out noticeably faded & greyish. This happens with both Kaweco's Supra EF nib & Bock's #6 EF nib. Even after a thorough clean. However the problem doesn't recur with Asvine's EF nib, which has a slightly bigger slit, thus producing a much wetter, wider line (closer to Medium). Which is why I replaced it in the first place. As this issue isn't a one-off, in my experience it makes the P36 a less reliable performer than some excellent fountain pen brands I'd compared it with below. At least one other reviewer had the same issue. - End of edit. An outstanding, well-designed fountain pen. The Asvine P36's concave, ergonomic grip section makes it very comfortable even for long writing sessions. It has a huge ink capacity, is well balanced, of medium weight, yet it's large enough to use unposted. Moreover, its design is lovely to behold. Its price belies the high quality. The P36 is easily on a par with more expensive fountain pens. In fact, the P36 is now one of my favourites. Right up there with Kaweco's Dia 2 & Supra pens, Lamy's Studio, Pilot's Capless Vanishing Point & TWSBI's Diamond 580 ALR. All these pens exude timeless quality, without being prohibitively expensive. Re the Asvine P36 nib: it unscrews easily. Because I found Asvine's EF nib too wet & too wide for my needs (the EF nib was more like a Fine/Medium), I replaced it with a Kaweco Supra 250 EF nib. This now gives me a smooth, true EF line. Alternatively, one can use a Bock #6 nib with the P36. But I've always found Kaweco's Supra nibs to be the best. An unqualified 5 stars! One of the best fountain pens in my steadily growing collection, regardless of price range, & I've owned dozens over the years.

An all-round excellent pen
I've only used this pen a little, and I'm already in love with it. First off, the design - it's stellar. Nice, clear and clean, with metal accents. The ink window is massive, and the acrylic is thick yet transparent. Onto the ergonomics. The clip works nicely, and the grip section, despite being metal, isn't slippery in the slightest. The pen does not post, but it is a good size for writing with for long periods of time. The pen isn't super heavy but definitely has some weight to it. The piston in the pen works very well and looks like it can be unscrewed using a TWSBI wrench. Not that I'll need to open it for a while - it was definitely greased properly after manufacture. The nib's performance will vary greatly depending on which size/brand you choose. I went with a Bock broad on mine. It wrote finer and drier than most broads I've used, but the benefit of this type of nib is that it can be easily swapped. Placing another broad nib in the pen from another brand (Platinum) has turned this pen into one of my favourites. All in all, an amazing pen, and a must-buy at this price.

So much for the titanium pen
Nice pen shame about the cap! First the metal ring around the cap came loose and detached from the cap when the cap is unscrewed. Second the top of the cap and clip have come off the cap because the acrylic has failed. Which is a pity because I like writing with this pen. So much for the titanium fountain pen when the rest of it is poorly designed acrylic!

Bought as a gift - recipient seemed to love it
Bought as a gift as the recipient has an appreciation for stationery and calligraphy - she seemed very happy with it. Watched her unbox it and the build quality seems top notch. Would need to check in with her to see what she thinks of it in terms of practicality but with regards to whether or not it looks and feels the part as a decent gift: it's a definite yes!

Beautiful pen, smooth as butter
I have a large collection of fountain pens, this P36 is the nicest one of them all. It writes so smooth, looks & feel it does not get better at any price.

I've been using this pen for a few weeks now and really enjoy using it. It's very smooth and comfortable to use. However, it didn't start that way. I first paired it with "PILOT Iroshizuku Bottled Fountain Pen Ink, Chiku-rin, Bamboo Forest (Light Green)" that I purchased on Amazon as well. It was scratchy and the ink didn't flow well. I contacted the seller and they responded within 24 hours. Before hearing from them, I decided to clean it and try some Pelikan ink that I already had. The pen feels great now! So, the brand of ink makes a big difference. I also noticed a tendancy to leak if the pen is stored on its side. Keeping it vertical with the nib pointed upward fixes this. This may be common among fountain pens, but was new to me. The seller also recommends cleaning it every 2 weeks to avoid clogs.

Consigliata.
