I have installed this in my diesel truck from the slip tank to the pump. The quality of the product is very good and it was easy to install. It works as normally closed with no power which is typical. I was concerned about the heat build-up as it was initially used for gravity flow. This means that it would be open for almost an hour to completely fill my main tank. Since the operating time is only half an hour or so I decided to install a pump to reduce the need for that so now it only needs to be open about ten minutes. No issues with the heat now so it turned out to be an excellent purchase.

I installed this valve indoors and it typically stays ON for 4 hours a day. It appeared to work just fine for a few months even though it would get hot while ON. After a few months I noticed the valve would not always open/shut properly and there were signs of corrosion. After a year, the valve never closes completely and gets very hot. I'll be looking for a replacement with some kind of certification (e.g. UL, cULus or CSA) which this device lacks. I do not recommend this product.

Pros. Good value, well made and works as described. Cons. Coil runs very hot, to hot to touch if there's no cold water flowing through it. Reliability ????

Good quality valve. Plan to use it in my Econoline van for a secondary heater. Is now installed and working well.
