This worked great. I was able to program the channel buttons to work the cable box, but the volume buttons to work the TV. This circumvents so much confusion for my elderly mother!

So this device is lightweight. It's for my mom who is 96 years old. Love the simple buttons. We'll see how she wears them out since she likes to press the buttons a lot.She likes to channel surf. Now, programming, it took 5 minutes, it's easier to read the instructions than play the video. If you just think simple point the two remotes together, let the lights blink, do their magic, program it's done. Be cautious to read the instructions precisely. And you should have no problems. Watch those blinking lights, and when they're not blinking. Match whatever button you want to the other one.It should be no problem. The only reason it shouldn't work if there's no infrared LED to send a signal out on the original remote. Which was stated in the instructions.

Fussy to program, and the Channel Up and Down buttons don’t seem to use a “Debounce” electronic circuit, so one press jumps two channels instead of one as the press echos in the circuit. Basic button application electronics oversight. Poor design. Maybe I’ll gut it for some components to use in my own projects. As it came to me, it’s not at all fit for its intended use, which was to control my TV with. Volume control, and mute work. Channel “Up & “Down” buttons skip channels two at a time. As is, the most expensive AAA batteries I’ve ever purchased.

Some users have complained that this isn't programmable in the sense that other types can select brands and then correctly assign keys. This remote needs a working remote and what it does is it copies or clones the keys to whatever you wish. For example volume up volume down but it seems that this thing can copy almost any key and maybe from almost any remote I haven't tried it on a mini split remote but I bet it would copy it. If you don't have the original remote then you'll have to buy a remote that can be programmed by code and then if you wish to use this big button you could copy it from that.

It was a bit challenging to set up But it did program itself from the other remote.

The product is fine. The setup was easy but slightly tedious. The one big problem with it every button copied and worked fine except for the Power Button. The power button works fine on the factory remote but would not program on the Big Button TV remote, no matter how many times we tried. It is unfortunate. I needed this for an elderly MIL with dementia who gets overwhelmed with all the buttons on the remote. So having one remote to turn the unit on/off and another to control it is just not an option.

Great for older individuals who are not tech savvy

I bought this remote to use instead of the large, heavy cumbersome remote that came with my audio component. I just wanted to have something cheap and small that would control volume, source, muting and display dimming. This unit is perfect for the task. It is light weight, buttons are large, it is silver so it is easy to locate in the room. The training process is a breeze to accomplish and it learned the desired commands from the original remote. Another reason I picked this remote is because the keys are not lighted (really not necessary). This should prolong battery replacement. I use rechargeable cells.

Wer eine einfache, seniorengerechte Fernbedienung für Angehörige sucht, die mit Technik nicht mehr gut zurechtkommen, wird hier fündig. Es war das Beste, was ich für meinen Vater kaufen konnte!

Haven’t been able to get the power on/off feature to work. The unit is very cheaply made (not worth $40 in my opinion) . The up volume button works, the down works intermittently I’ll be asking for a refund.
