Compact, Great for Travel
I purchased this ammo box specifically to be able to take ammo on a plane. I wanted something that could hold a couple of mags or so of ammo in a compact, sturdy form factor.Regulations differ, but some airlines will not allow ammo to be transported in a magazine, even if the mag isn't in the firearm. I wanted something that would be able to pack inside the same case as the firearm. This fits the bill perfectly. For reference, the photo shows my G19 and this box in a Pelican Vault case. You could cut the foam, but I use it as is and smoosh it closed.Be sure to check TSA requirements and your airline's regulations for travel to make sure this is OK. I think some airlines state that ammo needs to be in the original box, although TSA requirements give a little more latitude.

Great box, will last forever, nice color!
I bought a box of .45 ammo that cam without boxes, just a big plastic bag of ammo. So I ordered 10 of these. I could not be happier with them.Good hinge, strong box, grooves help stacking and not sliding, probably last forever and the red is a nice color. Also comes with some stickers for labeling if you are into that.To address some of the other reviewer complaints:Yes at first the box was tough to open because the tendency is to hold the box closed while opening. But after 1 min of trying different ways it was no problem at all. Hold the grey part in your week hand, do not squeeze the red part down. Then flip each latch open and presto. Can do it standing sitting whatever no problem - works every time. Being a tad hard to open is a good thing when they fall over in your range bag, since they stay shut and do not spill 50 rds into your bag.Rattling. The case I bought holds .40 or .45. The skinnier .40 will surely rattle more. Placing rounds bullet down and primer up will also make it rattle more. I placed my .45 primer down and they do not rattle much. I take these to the range and not on covert missions so rattling is normal and acceptable for my intended use.Suggestion:I would like this in different colors for different ammo types. They do provide different color stickers, but I would like 9mm blue box and .40 orange box - or whatever.

Very strong little ammo boxes, made with quality by Plano. A very trusted name in durability.
These ammunition boxes are excellent. They are made by Plano a very trusted name in strength and durability in storage box industry for many years. They hold 50 = 9mm shells perfectly with room to spare for us larger handed individuals. It makes it very easy to reload your magazines while at the range. I do not endorse many products, but if you are a shooter professionally or hobbyist then these are the ammo storage boxes for you! They are very easily stackable and they come with labels to tell you what's in the box caliber wise. They do not take up lots of space and they fit into my range bag perfectly with room to spare.

Very well made box!
I am very happy with this, it's a thick plastic 9mm box that I am confident will hold up well under normal use. There are no negatives about this box at all, which is always a good thing. It's is very nice how they include the stickers that you can label how you want, that is a nice addition to an already nice box.I was looking around on Amazon earlier and saw that a Reviewer wanted to buy two boxes (another brand) for a .22, he somehow did something wrong and he bought one box that holds .22 only, and the other box he mentions that it was for a .380/9mm/.32 cal, so he didn't want to return it, so he saw that if you place one .22 cartridge in facing down, and another facing up, you can fit TWO inside of the one hole.In his case this was a 100 count box, so that means that he can fit 200 rounds into a 9mm box.I just tried it with this one, it'll hold 100 .22's, sure enough, it works fine. There is a small amount of 'jiggle' room, but it's not crazy loose at all.Try it, although I am not doing this with this particular case, I do have some coming on Friday that I bought particularly for that which is the same brand that he used. I will definitely do that for all of my .22's. I say all, I will have to buy more cases, because I have a LOT!I would imagine that a .44 magnum box would possibly hold 3 per cavity. These boxes are well made, so I will be a returning customer. 5 Stars!

Plano Reputation; but bulky
Plano is a product leader for a reason. These cases are sturdy and durable. The cartridge size is on the money. But this brand isn’t my favorite. Compared to American made MTM, I find Plano boxes to be a little bulky, and the plastic latches (two, when one will do) a little difficult to manipulate - particularly one handed. But these will last forever, they stack nicely, and perform their function well.

Great
These things are well worth the money. To be able to get 50 are 80 by the 100 size to carry out to do some target shooting and not carring your big box. Or put it in a bag and carry with you, so you can get out there. And yeah, do some shooting, but also be able to limit yourself to what you're gonna shoot that day. And it's good to keep it in the vehicle. Also in a safe box. Namely, for the price, that's for sure. Like I say for the price and what it's made out of in how I've used mine only for a few weeks. That lid's been are closing very well and stays closed. I have made 3 purchases of 4. And I'm gonna make at least 3 or 4 more here in the next couple days. For different, you know, sizes of ammo
