Excellent performance and ease of installation (push fit SATA plugs). Slightly noisy but acceptable for a spinning HDD. This is 7200 rpm, so faster access. The device is recognised easily in Windows Device Manager. I went for 4TB but many storage capacities are available. I have used Seagate since the early days of PC / Windows, so over 30 years, have never been let down. I bought this as a back storage internal drive for my new PC project. Robust and reliable and very well made.

Very quiet and perfect for my dxp4800 nas

Really poor quality control. Ordered four 16TB disks. Two won't even register as alive on NAS or PC (using USB adapter), they just sit there beeping every 5 seconds. Thought two were ok but one of them fails SMART checks and refuses to format, so one usable out of four. Given this was their "Pro" drives it's really disappointing. Never had disk problems like this before (used lots of WD and Seagate drives). -- Update. I got replacements for 3 broken drives and got another. Now have 5 drives that seem to be working without issue. So maybe just got unlucky initially, either with Seagate or the delivery driver. Still knocking a star off for initial problems. The drives have good performance and are relatively quiet in my NAS. 64TB of storage (with a parity drive to protect against loss), should be adequate for quite some time.

As per the title, the IronWolf Pro has long been my drive of choice for performance, and 5 year warranty, though never yet to take advantage of that. Drives are 7200rpm with good cache size allowing then to be used as 'regular' hard drives, particular for offline critical backups. My latest purchase was 5 x 16TB IronWolf Pros for a new Synology DS1522+ NAS. Not on the official drive list but work perfectly. I went for the 16TB as it was the most cost effective whilst also giving me my desired storage. I have the 5 x 16TB drives configured in RAID6 to allow for a double drive failure, giving me 48 TB of effective space. This is over a 5 times increase in storage from my previous ultra reliable Buffalo TeraStations where the hardware never failed but the 3TB drives used in them did, 4 at the worst possible times with cascade failures during array rebuild. Fortunately I had a backup synced NAS, but it took over a week to get operational again. The RAID6 offers a 2 out of 5 drive Parity calculation, and thus fault tolerance of 2 drives failing simultaneously. Just in case, I backup to 2 x 18TB Exos drives on a regular basis. The IronWolf Pros are noisy in use because of their fast seek speed, especially when 5 drives are seeking at the same time. Temperatures stay good on medium cooling option. I have yet to have an IronWolf Pro fail and hope that continues! Recommended!

Nel mio case a 4 bay, questo garantisce che le vibrazioni dei dischi adiacenti non influenzino la precisione della testina, prolungando la vita del drive. Carico di lavoro: Certificato per 550 TB/anno, è un mulo da lavoro instancabile, ben oltre le necessità di un utente domestico avanzato. 🚀 PERFORMANCE REALI Velocità: I 7200 RPM e la cache da 256 MB si fanno sentire. Nei trasferimenti sequenziali ho saturato stabilmente la banda della mia rete Gigabit, mantenendo medie intorno ai 240-250 MB/s in lettura/scrittura sequenziale. Rumorosità e Calore: Nonostante i 7200 giri, il disco è sorprendentemente silenzioso durante il normale funzionamento (si sente il classico "grattare" solo durante i seek pesanti). La temperatura operativa in un case ben ventilato si è assestata sui 36-38°C sotto carico. 💎 IL VALORE AGGIUNTO: DATA RESCUE Un dettaglio che spesso si ignora finché non è troppo tardi: inclusi nel prezzo ci sono 3 anni di Rescue Data Recovery Services. Sapere che Seagate offre il recupero dati professionale in laboratorio in caso di guasto meccanico aggiunge un livello di tranquillità che giustifica il sovrapprezzo rispetto alla serie IronWolf liscia. ✅ PRO E ❌ CONTRO PRO: Tecnologia CMR (indispensabile per RAID); 3 anni di recupero dati inclusi; prestazioni al vertice della categoria 3.5"; Garanzia di 5 anni. CONTRO: Prezzo superiore ai drive consumer; leggermente più udibile rispetto ai modelli a 5400 RPM (normale per un drive Enterprise). 💡 CONSIGLIO TECNICO Appena arrivato, consiglio sempre un test completo della superficie (Extended Smart Test) prima di inserirlo nel volume RAID. La confezione FFP (Frustration-Free Packaging) di Amazon è ottima: il disco è arrivato sospeso in una struttura di plastica rigida e cartone, protetto perfettamente dagli urti del corriere. GIUDIZIO FINALE: È il "Gold Standard" per chiunque prenda sul serio i propri dati. Che sia per un server multimediale Plex o per backup aziendali, l'IronWolf Pro è una garanzia di continuità operativa.

Not a trustworthy seller. Upon checking the hdd serial number on seagate, no warranty was left on the hdd. Also no recovery plan as wrongly advertised. Most probably that is not an authorized distributor.

The Disks came in original Seagate packaging and with a 3 year recovery warranty card for each packaged disk. I am using 4 of these Disks in a RAID-5 array setup in my UGREEN 4-bay NAS DXP4800 PLUS and THEY perform great. They don't make a lot of noise, everything is without norms. I highly recommend these Disks for this kind of high redundancy arrays. I will setup another one so they can rsync to eachother.
