I am interested in buying this. In one of your reviews, it was mentioned that there is leather bounded mallet, is there an alternative? I am vegan.

I have 3 bowls , 2 have leather strikers 1 has wood only. they work the same but wood tends to vibrate at higher notes, needing better control and a little more practice. you could strip the leather, hold by exleather end and use the originally wooden end. or look for none leather hammers.

yes i was correct, found this on another of their bowls The symbols in and around the bowls (both the Antique Brown and the Blue) is the "Om Mani Padme Hum" mantra, a mantra that many believe is capable of creating a transformation of energy/vibration into divine qualities. Practitioners may interpret this mantra in many different ways. There are also those that do not adhere to the strict meaning of the words but go beyond that and focus on the effects of the sound of the mantra itself. Our singing bowls like the Antique Design, the Blue Bowl Design, and the Om Mani Padme Hum bowls have a range of different notes; they are not specifically tuned to a certain note.
