The quality is great. Tough very functionality. Balance is perfect for its size. Weight is good for its purpose. Money is on spot.

The design of the knife is excellent. It has thick blade stock and should hold up well for tough use. The extra long handle and weight help with easy of chopping. The edge right out of the box was quite sharp, paper cutting sharp but not hair shaving sharp. I stropped it on a green compounded leather belt and it is now hair shaving sharp. I will most likely not chop branches with it because I also carry a folding saw. Batoning should be just fine. This knife is great for camping and preparing food, cutting meat and chopping a whole chicken in half. It is also great for bush craft. An 2 inches section of the blade close to the handle is sharpened at a steeper angle for super sharp cutting purpose such as feathering a stick or anything require precision cutting. Most other machetes are made of thin flimsy sheet metal but this one is made of D2 steel and the blade is thick and strong. The sheath is a very good fit and of proper retention for holding the knife but also allows for easy withdrawal. I like plastic sheath over leather sheath for outdoor knife so I don't need to worry about whatever nature throws at you, rain, water, dirt and abuse. I highly recommend this knife.

I was impressed with how robust the blade is; it has a nice thickness and heft to it for chopping, and the grind is well done and very sharp. The sheath is sturdy and locks with the handle while also coming with a buttoned strap for the handle. The handle itself has a nice grip on it, I imagine it should be easy to maintain positive control even with sweaty/wet hands. The only issue I had is that the second grind angle near the handle is smaller than the width of my whetstones, so I'll have to find a narrower whetstone set or use another method to sharpen it.

Tough and well worth the money. Keeps an edge and chops through things I wouldn’t normally use a machete for. Great grip and easy to swing.

Note QUITE long enough to machete. But it will chop small stuff decently This thing is a BEAST. Its absurdly thick. The weird hand and a half handle didn't leave me anywhere to comfortably put my hand, but the handle is easily carved to fix that. The plastic could be a BIT more rubbery. Its good where its checkered but kinda slick where it's flat. I'm not crazy about the differential edge but that still probably even out with enough sharpening.

This machete is a beast! It is affordable and beautiful.

Etwas stärker (5 mm <> 4,5 mm), etwas schwerer (563 g <> 523 g), etwas kopflastiger ( ca. 1 cm verlagert, Griff kürzer), etwas schärfer ab Werk. Hackt und spaltet besser, schneidet minimal schlechter. Scheide besser und leichter. Auf jeden Fall optisch viel gelungener. Bottom line: Das etwas bessere Skrama!

Top Haumesser / Hackmesser Das Messer kommt in einer Wolfgangs bekannten schönen schwarzen Schachtel, die auch wunderbar als Geschenkbox dienen kann :) Leider ist meine durch den Transport anscheinend beschädigt geworden, aber das ist natürlich die Ausnahme. Ich bin mir sicher, dass wenn man Wolfgangs deswegen kontaktieren würde, auch eine neue bekommen würde. Mich persönlich stört es nicht. +Der Griff schön groß, endlich auch mal eines, bei dem der Griff auch eine ordentliche Länge hat und somit schön weit hinten angepackt werden kann. Somit bekommt man richtig Schwung und Kraft in das Messer und man fühlt sich trotzdem immer sicher. Der Gummi des Griffs ist auch schön griffig und wird auch bei Nässe nicht zu glatt oder sowas. Fühlt sich aber definitiv hochwertig an, ich hatte schon billig Messer. Da klebte gefühlt das Plastik irgendwie, aber gar nichts. Zudem ist die breite des Griffs auch ordentlich und man kann es mit der Hand richtig greifen. +Die Daumenauflage ist auch hier ziemlich gut ausgearbeitet und bietet auch mit Handschuhen eine sichere Auflage. Aber ist auch ohne Handschuhe sehr angenehm und nicht störend. Man kennt ja andere, dann ist es zu spitz oder zu scharf usw. aber hier gar nicht. +Die Klinge ist leicht nach oben gebogen, somit wird das hacken auch hierdurch erleichtert. Sie besteht aus X155CrVMo12-1 (D2 Stahl), damit sind auch unsere Stanzstempel hergestellt und da weiß man, was die aushalten. Ich habe keinerlei Bedenken, dass da irgendwas kaputtgeht. Das Einzige für unerfahrene Schleifer ist vielleicht, wie bekommt man den steileren Anschliff am Anfang wieder hin :) Der ist für feinere Arbeiten gedacht, ich persönlich hätte ihn nicht gebraucht, ein Haumesser ist für mich ein Haumesser und nicht für feinere Arbeiten gemacht ;) Hier empfiehlt sich wirklich ein Schleifwerkzeug mit einstellbaren Winkel und man kann auch das wieder ordentlich nachschleifen, denn die Wassersteine für den Tisch sind leider zu breit. Sie ist aus 5 mm Stahl gefertigt, 4,5 cm Höhe und ist ca. 25 cm Länge. Der Stahl muss durch den Chromanteil eigentlich nicht eingeölt werden, aber lässt man es länger liegen, kann ein Tropfen nicht schaden. +Die Scheide ist top gearbeitet. Das Messer sitzt ohne klappern super sicher darin. Für mich ist es definitiv das beste Haumesser, das es aktuell gibt. 5 von 5 Sternen.

Sehr robustes und gutes outdoormesser Spaltet problemlos Buchenkanthölzer ohne Ausbrüche oder Kratzer an der Klinge. Da es D2 Stahl ist würde ich von der Stonewasch Variante abraten da die offene Oberfläche leichter für Korrosion anfällig ist. Kann man ohne Bedenken weiter empfehlen!

Schon geiles Teil! Größer wie gedacht. Massiv. Toller Griff. Dafür gibt's 5 Sterne Verpackung war stark beschädigt auch Produkt Karton war beschädigt, Messer aber ok nach genauer Prüfung. Ich wollte erst zurück schicken, ABER das geht nur per DPD was leider mit erheblich mehr Aufwand bei mir gepaart ist. Ist DHL jetzt besser...na ja...aber viel öfter und näher vertreten. Letztlich kann Händlern nix für den lieferdienst wenn der Mist macht ( Karton weitwurf oder wie auch immer der so beschädigt wurde) aber Rücksendung kann mit DHL besser als mit DPD laufen Schon wegen der Anzahl an Paket Boxen. Für alle die eine wirklich gute Machete wollen kann ich das Teil nur empfehlen.
