Does this work? Yes. The look of this heater is subtle, so it doesn't stand out if you tuck in on the bottom shelf you it's not in use. The safety features help you breathe easy so that you don't have to worry about something if it gets tipped over. The solid durability is thanks to the build quality. It's not something that will just fall apart, and you don't have to worry about being burned if you touch it. Now for the major focus (which safety rivals this), the heat output... does it warm things up? Absolutely. I love that you can shift the dial for the heat in order for it to turn on and shut off automatically to maintain a certain level of heat without breaking a sweat, but if you want it nice and toasty in a reasonable space... this gets the job done. A racoon damaged the AC ductwork one winter to keep her babies warm, which pumped the heat outside and left us in the cold. I placed this in the living room, aimed it towards our sectional couch and we were good. This is a fabulous portable heater. I liked it so much that I bought a second one for another room. Unfortunately, the fan on the second unit stopped working and the heater began to have a burning odor. Then it stopped working. I contacted the seller and they agreed to refund my money. I used that money to purchase a new unit to replace the one that was defective. This company still stands behind their work and they are honorable people. These heaters provide incredible heat output, they are lightweight and they are very portable. They also have a nice safety feature such that it it is knocked overdub there is a spring loaded switch that stops the entire unit from working is you don't risk a fire. My original unit is still cranking out incredible amount of heat and is working exactly as described. I must have received a unit with a bad wire connection. These things happen. No fault of the design. The design is excellent in my opinion. As I said, I bought a second unit because of how good this system operates.

I was surprised to run this sitting on top of my 2" shag carpet without even a tiny bit of heat transferring to the carpet underneath. This is not an endorsement for running this unit on top of shag carpet or any carpet or burning thing--I was in the room the entire six hours and checking it often. It's an endorsement of the heat shielding that has to be installed on the bottom of this tiny unit that doesn't even stand a foot tall and has a few 1/4" rubber feet on the bottom. It has all of the best tipping and other safety features, which are my top priority in such a purchase. It is small and easy to trip over when you keep it as close to you as I was keeping it, but it shuts off immediately with any movement at all. It meets all of the specifications that I recall from the product page. Even when it wasn't set on the highest settings, it kept an uninsulated wood and glass window 20x10 (200 sf) room warm throughout the night where the outside temperatures reached 20 degrees F. It was toasty in that laundry room when I got up this morning, first time ever. I'm pretty sure some of that heat also transferred to the kitchen and back bath. That means this tiny unit (approx. 8" x 8" x 8") might exceed specifications. It exceeded my expectations for sure. I'm especially careful/paranoid about blowing electrical breakers, but I had none of that either. I also like to change them out during the day to give them all a rest. Along with that, Amazon beat out its expected delivery date by a day and I appreciate that very much because we're moving a lot closer to zero this weekend and the only heat I'm using are space heaters to heat my ground floor at the moment.

I bought this about a year ago. I really like it a lot. If I recall the price was good. I love it that this small heater can heat up my very big room. It warms up the room in minutes. When I need a heater again for a room, I will buy this one!

Compact space heater that can warm up a small area quickly. It has two turnable knobs, but only one is usable. The settings are: plain fan, heat 1 and heat 2. I thought the other knob would allow you to adjust the speed of the fan, but it's just for show. There is noise from the fan that is noticeable when you're sitting next to it, but you can't hear it when you're away from the area. Overall, it's still a nice little heater for the price.
