Beautifully illustrated, great pocket guide
A thoroughly, and lovingly, researched pocket guide that is beautifully illustrated with some of the greatest paintings from around the world. The author picks out specific works but in describing their attributes provides you with the tools that you need to 'approach' any great painting in any museum. The format makes it fun and easy to dip in and out of and you can't help but learn new things from each entry. Makes a great gift.
