Review: Easy installation, good quality cameras. - Great package deal bought at the beginning of June, which I set up abroad for my elderly parents. Once all was installed and set up, there were no issues for a week, but something went wrong with the hard drive. It kept on saying there was an error and would not record. It was still functioning and able to connect to the WiFi, which we can access remotely. I contacted the support team (Grace) and explained the issue. They were very understanding and immediately tried to rectify the issue. They went through all the troubleshooting process which was unsuccessful but they didn't stop there. They immediately dispatched a new hard drive and power supply, which I received soon as I arrived back to the UK. I will install the new hard drive when I return parents December. Overall happy with the item apart from the little issue which will be rectified. Thanks.

**Q: can this be connected with laptop?**
A: Yes you can access this system via your laptop following the included instructions and I can tell you it is worth doing...

**Q: What is the recommended. Size for the required hard drive.**
A: We sell systems with or without hard drive, please check carefully in the title and choose the one you need, if you want to install a hard drive on your own, you can choose a hard drive up to 4TB.

**Q: I can view remotely via my mobile phone, although it eats the battery! Is it possible to access via the internet on laptop, if so how do you do it?**
A: Yes you can view remotely via computer or tablet but how its done is beyond my IT capability's, sorry

**Q: How easy is this system to install. How easy are the cameras to install outside. Would it need a proffesional to do this ???**
A: Hi,

I only needed on camera for the front of the house - but put a lot of time into location planning before I started. 

I wanted to use the app for remote access to the camera, so my box needed a wired connect to router.  I measured the cables between the box, camera, power and router to determine the optimal location for each before any drilling that minimised any wires on show. 

Once I was sure of the locations - the Install was fairly simple.  The angle i wanted meant the camera was about 2 meters off the ground so I could use a standard ladder.  I drilled through the external wall with a 5mm masonry first as a guide, then used 20mm masonry.  Ran the cable through, tested the system, then fixed the camera to the outside wall. 

Took me about an hour in total.  

If you have a decent drill, bits, ladder and fixings, you should be fine to do it yourself

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Had this for over 5 years, hard drive just packed in

Bought quite a while ago in May 2018. It's the only one I've ever owned so nothing I can compare with. Price appears to have come down as I paid £209. One thing I don't like are the bullet cameras as the small screw that allow you to adjust the camera position to get the best view are a weak point and two of mine have failed. I think the picture quality is good both day and night. Lenses are wide angle so no chance of reading a number plate unless it is close to the camera and of course if the camera position higher up detail is lost. (the new cameras may be improved) I purchased a SANSCO 2MP HD CCTV Security Dome Camera (in 2018) and fitted it to the to one side of my front door and this gives a great view of people approaching the house. A few days ago I noticed that the hard drive packed up I suppose it's been going non-stop for over 5 years. I have bought a new hard drive Toshiba 2TB S300 Surveillance HDD - 3.5' SATA Internal Hard Drive Supports up to 64 HD cameras at a 180TB/Year workload (HDWT720UZSVA) from Amazon. Very easy to take the old one out and put the new one in. I am not an expert but the old HDD didn't specify it was a 'Surveillance' drive so possibly it was just a standard one for a computer. Apparently as the HDD is in constant use 24/7 the surveillance ones are built to a standard that can cope with this. The new one is silent compared to the old one which made a noise whilst writing to the disc. I would buy again but would get different cameras such as the dome ones and a one with a narrower field of view to give more detail. Overall pretty good and definitely an added deterrent to burglars.
