Recommended by my violin teacher. Very good! Well structured and nice clear layout. However, sometimes a fuller explanation of modules would have been helpful. If you are using this series of books on your own, without a music teacher, then you may need to Google for a fuller explanation and search YouTube for audio/video examples.

Useful book but could have done with an answers section to the tests
It's a good book and explanations are really clear but I am working through it on my own so I could have done with the answers to the tests to check my accuracy.

Really well explained and organized
The workbook is very well organized. Every concept is explained clearly and followed by helpful exercises. I find this approach very useful for understanding and remembering with ease. Despite playing at an early advanced level with a private teacher, I had never had theory lessons before, though many notions were already here and there in my mind. This book and the following grades were fundamental in order to get a formal and precise knowledge of music theory.
