Superman: Kal-El Returns

Very good comic. Smooth paper texture and funny story

I always wanted to read this story about the return of a classic superhero! Read all of the Superman comics to get into this one, too! Thanks for the great story, DC comics!

There were parts of this book I thought were done really well, but some that were just slow and for me were unessary. A big part of the book is setting up things to come for Superman and his family. The best thing about this book for me was the relationship between Superman and his son. The return between Clark and the Justice League was more comedic than heartfelt. The setup for things to come with Lex was great. A good setup for things to come and things to come. Not passing the torch yet, it looks like Clark might have more to come. Every chapter starts with a cover and varient cover. The book finishes with a thumbnail varient cover gallery.

They went back to basics with this book and it shines bright! The writing is captivating and interesting. Good to see old villains being themselves again with some scary upgrades. Big Blue is back baby! Do yourself a favor and pick this up. It's some of the best books out right now in my opinion. Update: After the first 3 chapters, I don't know what book it turned into. I thought I was reading Return of Kal-El. Not the horrid Jon Kent book. Knocking off two stars for that. Tom Taylor can be a good writer when he wants. And this ain't it.
