I received and the switches were hidden behind the front panel. Like the circuit board underneath was not aligned with the case so you could not really even get a tiny screwdriver in there to move the switches. I finally did but it was a pain. Then when I moved the ground isolation switch it stopped output to the RCA cables...That is not supposed to happen. It should output signal to the RCAs no matter which selection you have the ground isolation on. I returned maybe I just got a bad one because NVX is usually pretty good. Installed a LCi2 audio control with the same features and it worked perfectly so this was indeed a bad unit.

Several issues i noticed in using this. 1) The switches are very difficult to switch to different settings. There should be less resistance when cha ging settings. 2) It would be a better design to put the high-level input and power on tje same same to make routing of cables more neat. 3) lastly, more boomy compared to lc2i pro. If you want a strong impact, then this is better suited for you. I want a smoother roll-off and the lc2i pro is better for audiophile sound. This is a great LOC, and good bang for the dollar, but the switches and design could be improved for functionality.

2nd update: The sporadic bass peaks ended up blowing my sub (i was overpowering it a bit). Bought a new MUCH beefier sub, but noticed the bass was still wildly uneven, even with Xbass turned all the way down. Like this, the bass was really weak on a lot of songs, while the occasional track produced absurdly thunderous bass. Unlistenable. On many songs the bass was simply warbling up and down. Removed the LOC from my system and just connected to my amp’s speaker level inputs (which should be inferior, right?). Voila. Bass FINALLY sounds right, no matter what I play, no matter how loud. Clean, too. I don’t even notice bass roll off. YMMV. I cant say this product won’t work better for other people, but I returned it for a refund. Kudos for amazon and sonix allowing the return. UPDATE: I initially gave 4 starts per below “original” review. Now I’m giving 1 star because xboost doesn’t even work, and that’s the primary reason I bought this unit. The xboost should evenly counter bass drop off of the factory unit as you increase the volume, but oh boy, that’s NOT what happens! One second I can barely hear my sub, and the next second thunderous, massively exaggerated bass, and then it jumps back and forth throughout the song. And it happens at both loud and soft listening levels. And I don’t know how to fix it because the instructions aren’t detailed. Yes, i tried decreasing the xboost levels and it still happens. Is my unit defective defective??? ORIGINAL: Why does everyone keep suggesting this is basically a clone of the LC2i? There is a MAJOR difference, and it’s a huge disappointment for me. Look at the RCA outputs. The NVX has one. LC2i has two! The LC2i model facilitates also adding an amp for for mids and highs. This one is only for adding a sub amp. People talk about adding a splitter. No good! You want to be have independent control. Turn the knob on your bass control and …everything gets louder? Pointless.

Compared to the LC2i Pro, this product comes at nearly half of the price! So here's the pros and cons with this option. PROS: - The bass roll off feature works pretty great! It takes a minute to dial it in just right, but once you do, the converter continues boosting your SUB signal through your whole volume range, making your sub sound consistent at 10% volume all the way to 100%. - Included bass knob, with options for double sided tape and screw mount bracket. - The quick disconnects make upgrades, reorganization and replacements very easy and convenient. CONS: - The bass roll off feature is based on the output of mids/highs. It detects that the volume keeps climbing and makes sure that the bass follows. Only problem is that the algorithm used for this takes a second to kick in. [For example]: Volume is at 15, bass is at 15. Volume is now at 30, stays at 15 for a 2-3 seconds, and then climbs (delay). (Or vice versa) Volume is at 30, bass is at 30. (You turn down the radio to talk to someone). Volume is now 10, but the bass remains at 30 for a few seconds before also matching the radio to 10. (Perhaps this is an issue that more premium products could improve on). - The super special telephone cable broke (An uncommon variant because both ends are NOT the same, making it hard to find a replacement). This cable is used to connect the bass knob. I had to contact the seller. The seller declined to just send me a replacement and I had to get in contact with the manufacturer. Still waiting for a resolution. - This is my second unit. The first one, went up in smoke due to a defect. They replaced it free of charge, but still... In other words, consider the cons before you buy because those extra dollars can result in a more pleasant, and reliable product. I'm already working on purchasing the competitors offering.

Just used this to install subs in my 2012 Honda CR-V With the factory head unit. Not only do they sound amazing, but it also made the factory speakers sound way better. Install was super easy so I didn’t have to pay a shop to do it
