I'd like to start off by saying that this is the first time I've ever purchased a microphone and I'm not receiving anything in return for my review. Now with that being said, I will be giving my honest opinion. First initial reaction when I received the microphone was that I appreciated the top and bottom foam inserts that keep the mic secure. For that reason, I've kept the box as it's storage container, or "case", until I've purchase an actual case. Appearance: I really liked the look of it right out of the box. It doesn't differ from the photos whatsoever. It's sleek, it's metal, and feels sturdy in my hand. It comes already secured to the stand and can be disconnected from it to then be secured to a boom arm - no shock mount is needed but it appears that you can put the mic in a shock mount if you prefer using one. It also has an adjustmetment knob so that you can position the mic at whatever angle you'd like whether using the stand or a boom arm. When I first turned it on, the RGB lights lit up and I really love them. You can customize the brightness which I appreciate because it allows you to lower the brightness enough that instead of it kind of looking like just a bright light with minimal color, you can dim it down to where the color's still vibrant and can be seen perfectly on camera in a video. It has a nice array of colors to choose from, though I wish you could apply the dual color to all the different colors but hey, maybe that can be a future software update? I'll be honest I was shocked by the size of the mic but honestly, if I had actually just taken the time to think about what the dimensions were when I first read them, I wouldn't have been surprised. The mic could be a bit bigger with a slightly taller stand so that your camera doesn't need to be angled down if you desk isn't tall enough or your don't have a boom arm. That is only in reference to wanting the colors to be easily seen on screen without additional equipment or adjustments. But in reference to sound quality, size doesn't matter, especially in this case. Sound quality: Sound quality is great. My voice is the same when using the mic in a video versus talking normally. You can use the gain knob to adjust the volume of the mic as well as the volume for any headphones connected to it. If you just want to use Bluetooth headphones and connect them to your computer, that works to hear everything but only after you've recorded your video. Monitoring sound during the recording process will require you to have headphones connected to the mic. You do have the option to customize the sound a bit more using the app from Maono's site. You do not need a pop filter. You can rotate the mic so that it's sideways and that will help with diffusing plosives. Regarding saliva, you can use a boom arm to keep the mic up and away from your mouth so that spray isn't an issue. You can also put it down on your desk and that'll do the same thing. My voice can be heard clearly even a foot away from the mic. My fiancé was about 4-5 feet away from me talking at a normal level and the mic didn't pic up his voice which I was pleasantly surprised by. Ease of use: It's plug and play easy. I really appreciate that the end that connects to the bottom of the mic is positioned at a 90° angle. It's really convenient and useful. Also having the option of either a Type C to C connection or a Type C to USB connection is great for me. I have a laptop with a Type C port and 3 USB. All three USB ports can easily be taken up by my webcam cord, my additional mouse plug in, and my additional keyboard plug in. You have the gain control, mute option, headphone volume, and RGB color options all there on the mic easily controlled by 2 buttons. However, if you want to customize things even more or on a screen, download the Maono app to your computer. The app has the standard options to use to customize the colors and sound as well as more advanced options for sound customization. I will say as a beginner, I did need to look into what the advanced terminology means. Though for more seasoned and knowledgeable users, I learned that the "advanced" options are still pretty basic. For computer compatibility, I have an HP Laptop that uses the most up to date version of Windows. I've had no issues thus far. The mic is also compatible with editing softwares like OBS Studio, DaVinci Resolve 18, CapCut, etc. However, I was not able to use the Maono app on my phone. Value for money & the Quality: I did purchase this mic while it was on sale. Nonetheless, the value for money and the quality of this mic are amazing - especially for how cheap it is in comparison to the top tier name brand mics that are selling for nearly double or triple the price. If you're a first time content creator or even a seasoned one that just wants a good quality mic that's easy to use with a little bit of RGB flare and has impressive sound quality, you can't go wrong with this mic. If you want something more Hi-Tech with an app that can be used on your phone with more in depth sound customization options, then maybe you want to look at something else. But you can just customize the sound of the video during the editing process as well. Overall, I'm very impressed with this mic and excited to be posting content soon while using it! One little fun fact is that the day this mic first became available for purchase was on birthday! Besides that, I truly hope this review helps!

for the price you really can’t beat this! Works amazing I use it for gaming with friends every night and it’s never given me any issues

was looking for a quality mic for gaming but i didn't want to spent over $60. i saw a review for this mic on instagram and took my chances since it was only about $50. positives: the stand has a good weight and feels very sturdy but the mic itself is very light so i'd imagine it'll be convenient to transfer onto an arm. the sound quality is clear and i haven't had an issue when it came to others understanding me. minor negatives: the mute button is very convenient but sometimes it doesn't register my pushes and i'll have to click 2-3 times. the mic comes with a program with some customization capabilities but there isn't much freedom to change the cosmetic lights - you aren't able to change the lights outside of the given still color and rainbow rgb settings but it shouldn't be an issue if rgb is not a priority ultimately for its price and in comparison to pricier mics from more well known brands, i love it and would recommend it to others.

This microphone sounds super sharp

Stopped working and fell apart after a year

The microphone is beautiful I can't complain about the terminations and the quality of the sound, but, I should say that I had a bad moment when I received the package, the box of the microphone and the protector foam were kinda destroyed 😔 I don't know if it was in the customs review or something but the wings of the box were ripped off and the box was open, the foam was in the wrong place and one of them is cut. Despite of that the delivery was faster than I thought and the product is beautifully made, and the color is precious. Ps.: The picture doesn't do justice to the color.

So this thing is good value for the money. It's not the best microphone, but it also doesn't cost $300. You get a lot more than what you pay for. For a price of 3 fast food meals you can have this nice gaming microphone. Connects easily to the PC computer, or Playstation, or Xbox.

A beautiful, sturdy RGB mic with a solid build. Maono continues to impress me with the quality of their products. I highly recommend it!

Tiene buena calidad de sonido y es facil de conectar

Ya tuve oportunidad de usarlo en un Webinar y su desempeño fue muy bueno. Es un micrófono de gama media pero excelente para transmitir por Internet. Mi voz se oye claramente y filtrar bien los ruidos externos y sobre todo conectando unos audífono se puede oír nuestra voz y modular el volumen de la misma. Por precio y beneficio es una buena compra. No es un micrófono profesional pero se acerca.
