Are the nutrition facts based on the can being drained or not?

You do not want to drain the can. This is "good fat" cod oil, you want to eat it/drink it/add it to egg salad, or something (don't cook it.). You are getting one of the best cod liver and cod liver oil mixes and it should be eaten.

At what temperature are these cans cooked at by the packing company and for how long ? This is not raw fish liver.

I'm not sure about the cooking temperature or how long, but I know it's ready to eat right out of the can. I actually found out about this brand after watching a video from Dr. Berg, so I knew it was going to be high quality. I've enjoyed several cans of these and the flavor and texture are always consistent. It tastes way better than I thought it would and have ordered it twice and will be ordering more when I run out of my last order. It is a little pricey, but worth it and a great way to get vitamins A and D. It's actually cheaper if you buy it by the 12 pack, too.

Could you make a pate with these similar to chicken liver pate to serve with crackers? Looking for ways to eat besides plain.

I don't see why not...that would be great! They're much softer than chicken livers, so just mash with a fork, add your seasonings, and you'd be good to go!

How many cod livers per can?

They are the same size as sardines stuffed inside. About two thumb widths. It fills the can.
