Excellent boots but size guide lacking
First let me say that these are truly awesome hiking boots. They are light and comfortable but also importantly durable. With a Goretex leather upper and a Vibram sole, what's not to like. To make sure they are right for you, wear them around the house and you should barely know you are wearing them. Also, there is a lifetime free repair service. However, treat the size guide as exactly that. We ordered 3x pairs for myself, wife and daughter. I had to exchange my size 10, which may have been ok, for a 10.5, which are perfect. We had to exchange my daughter's 6, which may have been ok for a 6.5, which is perfect. We had to exchange my wife's 6 for first a 6.5 and that was still too small and jumped straight to a 7.5, which was perfect. It really depends on how wide your foot is. Initially we measured our feet on a piece of A4 and then went up a half size to get the original order, which was still too small. Hence my tip is to measure (with socks on) and then add a full whole size (not half size) and for an extra wide foot add a further half size. We had to buy 6 pairs to get three that fitted us all properly. However, having said this, the Amazon returns policy is flawless and we have been refunded in full already, for the three pairs we had to returns. There's a useful fitting guide on outside.co.uk and YouTube where they also offer three different ways to lace up boots like this. Luckily, we were able to buy them at the reduced prices. Hope this helps others.

Great boots
This is my second purchase of these boots and have been using my last pair for over 3 years and wear them every day. They have proved to be an excellent choice for comfort and remaining completely waterproof throughout their life. The inside ankle area is lined with soft leather and causes no rubbing whatsoever. They support the ankle well without feeling restricted and have probably been the best lightweight boots I’ve ever had. I purchased a half size smaller than my usual size and they fit perfectly. Highly recommend these boots and I will certainly keep purchasing this model for as long as I can.

Finally found some dog walking shoes
I must have around 20 or more pairs of walking shoes and boots. I have every type: Hiking, running, trail, waterproof and non. I only wear a select few because I find other uncomfy (hobbit feet) or they don't stay waterproof past a month. Then came these awesome boots. I must say, I did do a lot of research into these and other because it is A) A lot to spend and B) I don't want to keep buying more shoes constantly. I have had these for about a week now and worn them on dog walks in the mud, rain and also road walking. Each walk has been over an hour. I haven't had any blisters yet but they don't feel 100% comfortable yet. But I was expecting that being leather, they need time to break in and mould to your foot. I can tell though that they will be very comfy once I have worn them a fair amount. Plus, they are waterproof! Huge plus with dog walking and hiking. Overall, I would totally recommend but do keep in mind they will take some breaking in which is totally worth it. After an hour my feet just feel a bit achy nothing major. |Size wise, I got my usual size 4 and they are a great fit. The toe box also accommodates my hobbit feet.

Soft, light and so comfortable
Having tried on various different styles and makes, I kept coming back to the Berghaus Supalite 2 GTX as the fit was the best. I always take a size 8 womens, and these just felt so right the moment my foot slipped into the leather lined boots. They are a dark brown leather - perhaps not very elegant in looks, but to me that is unimportant when your out walking - priority should be the best fit and support for your feet and meeting the needs of your type of outdoor activity. I've only done a few miles in them so far (as Amazon always as for reviews so soon after purchase), but they felt great. Very light on the foot as you would expect, given the name. Rubbed a bit in places but this is to be expected with new boots. The tongue is soft so when you bend your foot it doesnt cut in. I'm certainly not an up mountain range girl, but more of a rambler - Ridgeway path, woods, chalk hills, etc. I wanted something I could wear all day, not look too massive (as 8 on a girl do) be comfortable, waterproof and reliable. I've had a Berghaus waterproof coat for years, which is still as good as the day I purchased it, so felt I could trust the make. Also Berghaus provide a guarantee for every product for its lifetime - "the length of time any piece of kit can reasonably be expected to keep delivering the same great performance as when it was new ". I'm looking forward to walking many more enjoyable hikes in these boots. I get the feeling they will mold to my feet quickly. The laces did untie a couple of times on my first walk, but I've put that down to being new and shinny, and after all its only laces. If I was considering hard mountain terrain, then I would seek advice from experts, but for rambling about on holidays, weekend etc I'm hoping I've made a wise choice.

They work!
I am very pleased with these boots though I was a bit disappointed to hear that Berghaus and Brasher had 'merged'! I replaced my last Brasher pair after 12 years with another pair which were way inferior. The sides came away from the sole and I had to get them glued back. The heel wore down way quickly too after 18 months so no way could they be compared to the original Brasher's. Within a few days they looked like they were ancient. The only improvement was in the weight - nice and light. So I decided to try Berghaus - a great brand in my view - I have two of their jackets. Arghhhhh - discover after ordering that they and Brasher are one and the same! Made in China too but then most things are now. So far so good. The sides are properly glued - checked that first - and it is true, the laces are short but you can double knot them, just. Time will tell if the soles wear as quickly as the "Brasher's" but they were immediately comfortable. I got a half size bigger as the previous Brasher's seemed on the small side, but there was no need with these I would say. So far so good.

If they're good enough for Kate Middleton...
I was looking for some new walking boots as mine were just rubbing a bit on the toe and over the course of a lengthy walk this can become a real problem. I was delighted with these, as soon as I tried them on, I knew they were just the right size in terms of width and length. I have narrow feet and I didn't want a wide fitting - these said they were narrow/standard and that is perfect for me. I can see another reviewer has said they were on the narrow side, so I guess it depends how narrow your feet are. The leather is superb and the lacing very easy to do. The boots are substantial and you can tell they are really well made. I believe the Duchess of Cambridge wore a similar pair on a recent royal visit. (I believe Kate has the Hillmaster ones.) I wore these the day after they arrived for a 5K walk around a bird reserve, just to see how they wore. They were incredibly comfortable and I was very happy wearing them. My ankles felt very well supported. The weather was dry and sunny so I didn't get chance to try the waterproofing, but I am confident that they will stand up to wet weather. I bought the size I would normally buy in shoes and they fitted really well - roomy and with plenty of wiggle room at the toe - even with two pairs of socks on. I also bought the Brasher conditioning cream from Amazon to keep them clean and in good condition. Very pleased with my purchase.

Simply the best 😍
My first supalite was made by Brasher and are almost 20 years. They are still usable except the soles came off last summer while in Lake District, 7 months before that, soles started flapping while walking in lake Bled. On both occasions, I bought super glue and it works, however I will now just use them in cities or towns, in case it happens again. My old boots were the best £100 I spent in early 2000 , it is super light and comfy and water proof. Used them on many terrain. My new supalite is now made by Berghaus and it feels even more comfortable than my old one. I’m so in love with them and they are so good looking 😊 I used them pretty much all day yesterday morning to evening (city only) and no pain nor blisters. Amazing. I’m a Nurse and wish I could wear this at work. Looking forward to using them in my next hike to Oman. To be fair, my flat is pretty warm especially during summer and there were many months when my old boots were not used, I’m guessing that contributed to the unglue ing of soles because the same thing happened to another shoes in the past. If you’re unsure, why not pop in to a shop where you can try them. I’m size 6UK and that’s what I ordered and fits perfect 👌🏽

The luxury of dry, comfortable feet....
I wish I had found these boots years ago. Firstly the fit. My feet are odd: one is a few millimetres longer and narrower than the other, and both are flat. These boots come in half-sizes, so it's much easier to get a decent fit than if I have to go up a whole size. The boots are comfortable from the start with plenty of support where you need it. I wore them around the house trying them out with different socks for a few hours until I got the perfect combination, then wore them the next day for a 7-mile walk across varied terrain. I arrived home with feet as snug and comfortable as when I'd started out. No rubbing, no blisters, no aching. The lining is butter soft leather, and the lacing opens out enough to accommodate thick socks without difficulty. And they have proved to be completely waterproof. I love them!
