I had the older Apple monitor boxed up and with this adapter I was able to used it again on a newer Mac mini., Works perfectly.

Didn't work for my needs. I wanted to take a DVI cable from my Desktop Server Graphic Card, then hook it up to my Portable Monitor's USB-C port. This didn't work. I'm guessing it's only meant to go from something like a MacBook Air's USB-C port, not the other way around. Back to Amazon it went. Just in case anyone is looking for a similar solution, here's what I did. I bought a DVI to HDMI adapter, then HDMI to HDMI Mini adapter. The first Mini adapter broke on first use, then bought another one that was more flexible and that worked perfect using HDMI. Would have been easier (and cheaper) if this worked both ways.

Bought this to drive a 1080p monitor from an Asus UX501VW higher-end laptop. I was already using up the HDMI video out port on the side of the laptop, but wanted to use a second external monitor that had a DVI connector. Rather than find a USB 3.0 Type A video adapter, I got this one that uses the Thunderbolt 3 / USB 3.0/3.1 Type C port. I didn't have to do a thing for it to just work. No drivers, no fiddling. Just plugged it in and it worked. True to advertising, it feels relatively high quality, and I think the Type C plug and the body of the adapter are aluminum, and if not, it feels like it. They're the same colour as my brushed aluminum laptop casing, so I'm happy aesthetically. The cable that connects the DVI adapter to the Type C plug is a bit stiff, but I expect it will soften up over time, as computer cables tend to do. It also looks like a lot of factory Mac products, so anyone with a Mac laptop would probably like the aesthetic too. No flickering, used it with two different 1080p monitors, and I'm happy so far. Good value. One of the least expensive products of its type that I found. Would definitely buy it again and I'd recommend it to anyone.

I've been using a no-name USB C to VGA adapter from my Macbook Pro M1 to my 10 year old 20" HP S2031 for over a year. I finally got tired of the low resolution and intermittent blinking, and planned to buy a new monitor. As a last resort I tried this BENFEI USB C to DVI Adapter and IT LOOKS GREAT. I was quite surprise and am extremely happy with the result. I even lowered the resolution for my normal typing and searches and will increase it for my video editing and photo work. I figure it saved me at least $150. I'm extremely please. I highly recommend it. With free returns, how can you go wrong?

this cable works except it's missing a critical feature that perhaps not many customers even know about but is also critical for my setup. Most cables and video cards supports this thing called DDC/CI, where you can change the brightness and other settings of your monitor remotely directly via a slider on your operating system. This is super useful at night to change the brightness down for all your external monitors for instance. For whatever reason, the manufacturers of these maybe to save cost either block this signal or completely cut the pins so that the signal doesn't reach the monitor. I had to buy an alternative from a more reputable brand to get it working.

This adapter is so cheap compared to the price of the ones in stores! I needed one of these to connect my old Cintique monitor to my new MacBook and this works great. I haven't had any connection issues and have been using it daily for over a week. I haven't been unplugging the DVI from the adaptor and just left it screwed on. I think constantly removing the adaptor may cause issues but it's not a problem for me. The adaptor isn't cheap feeling and feels like my old Apple branded adaptor.

Jag kopplade ihop min gamla skärm som är ACD 20" (aluminium modell) med MacBook Pro late 2018 15" och har egentligen två skärmar kopplade. Min stora 34" curved LG som är kopplad med HDMI till en 12 South USB-hub och denna tar upp en port på laptopen. ACD 20" koppla alltså direkt till datorn. De ser varandra och jag hanterar appfönster utan problem.

Très pratique pour brancher un deuxième écran sur son PC portable. Le port HDMI sur le premier écran externe, le second sur l'USB-C. Simple, ça marche tout seul. Il faut juste configurer l'affichage des écrans sur Windows pour que la souris se balade logiquement entre les écrans. Pas de saut d'image, ça marche nickel.
