Great laser whether it is your 1st or 2nd laser.
This is my second laser but my first portable laser. My other laser is an Om Tech 60w CO2. I use it for the cutting of wood and burning larger projects. I love the F1 because it is easy to use and portable. I do a few craft shows a year and it is easy to take with me to personalize items for the customer. It does a great job on slate coasters and on leather projects. On the smaller items it is so much easier to set up than the larger laser. Easy to focus and the framing is very accurate. It has been worth every penny that I paid for it and so far it appear to be durable since it has endured the rigors of the farmers market and craft shows. I would like to have a stronger one but will have to wait for a while due to the additional cost.

Great Machine! Easy to use.
Great machine! Easy to use software. I love the fast you can remove a piece of base that allows it to be used with larger material. Great value for the money. Durable design compared to Creality. You don't have to worry about this falling apart. Easily movable. Super accurate laser and easy to use with the boarder feature.

Incredibly Crisp Engravings, Incredibly Fast
I own several xTool lasers and decided to add the F1 to the lineup for my studio work. I have been thoroughly impressed by how well this laser works for my needs. The first big project I tackled on it was a run of customized anodized aluminum cards to create tokens for a game. The level of fidelity in the images it produced- the clean sharp lines for text, and even the incredibly detailed greyscale without using a dithering mode were really incredible and were a huge step up from attempting the same engraving on my D1 Pro while also being about 10 times faster. The framing tools were invaluable for being able to lineup the chipboard jig I made for project, being able to see exactly where the bounds were all at once made it so easy to get everything dialed in. The option to have the framing go to the exact shape of the design has also been very useful for some of the other projects I've run on it. The speed on this machine is crazy fast - it's fast enough that I haven't hesitated to incorporate customized parts into more aspects of my shipping materials like mailer boxes and envelopes as they each finish so quickly it takes so little time to make stuff a little extra cool. The air purifier is also a great addition to this device, it's really great to be able to run the machine on a table behind me in the studio and not have to stress about the smoke. All in all this is a really great device that has helped streamline and speed up a lot of the parts of my business I was using lasers for in general.

Powerful and portable in a small package.
Though this machine is rather small it packs a big punch in regards to power and portability. This galvo style laser has 2 types of laser built in. One is a 10w blue diode laser the other is a 2w ir laser. The ir laser us great for marking metals of all kinds. The blue laser has a wide range of useage. One if my favorite features is how it projects your project on the material for easy centering of your project. I have a short video added showing that. Another amazing thing about this machine is that its portable. The bottom plate is removable so you can pickup the machine and pretty much mark any flat surface. The f1 also has an indoor air purifier you can purchase if you can't get near a window, it does include a hose yo pipe out the fumes in the box, the machine has a built in exhaust fan. There is also a table extension you can purchase to enhance the workspace size. All in all this is an amazing little machine and i look forward to using it for a long time.

limited usability for the price
I own a M1 +RA2 and D1 Pro machine from xtool, a pecker 3, snapmaker 2.0, and for this price tag was expecting much more from what this little F1 offers. maybe the ultra expensive, extremely well branded/advertised F1 ultra works as you may think, but this little F1 is just (another) OVERPRICED machine from xtool that unfortunately doesn't perform beyond from what you can get from cheaper machines from other brands, btw for the same price of this you can get from another brand a 20w fiber laser that is trully capable of deep engraves and cut metal (f1 ultra like capabilities?!) , do your own research and understand that for the same price xtool puts lately on their machines, you can get more powerful machines that maybe look uglier outside (who really cares) but are power houses using the same universal software that almost all laser machine use (including xtool) now a days (lightburn). help build a better comunity focused toward users and dont just settle with good avertised machines. buy quality-top performace machines out there for the right price and help other bussines grow and keep inovating as well as pushing this business(xtool) to become more competitive with prices. as an example for almost 5k cost of F1 ultra you can get a 60w fiber laser that cuts 1.2mm of some metals, engrave almost 3mm plus more. or buy 2 separated machines like 30w fiber laser and a 40-60w diode laser for the same price. with more power, working area. you can get better result across more items/materials, unless you just want to sell tumblers and business cards forever (uber like business model) keep buying this underpowered, overpriced, overated machines.

I’ve been using the xTool F1 for a while now, and it’s honestly one of the best purchases I’ve made. It’s incredibly fast, which makes a huge difference when working on multiple orders or personalizing items on the spot. The detail and precision are impressive, whether I’m engraving wood, metal, or leather. One of the biggest selling points for me is how portable it is. I take it to fairs and markets, and people are always amazed at how quickly and cleanly it engraves. The red light preview feature makes setup easy, and the software is intuitive, even for someone who isn’t super tech-savvy. If you’re looking for a high-quality laser engraver that’s reliable, fast, and easy to use, the xTool F1 is definitely worth it. It’s completely changed how I work, and I’d recommend it to anyone, whether you're a hobbyist or running a business.

I couldn’t be happier with the xTool F1! As someone who loves crafting and creating unique designs, this machine has been a total game-changer. From the moment I unboxed it, I was impressed by the quality and versatility it offers. The dual laser feature—10-watt diode and 2-watt infrared—is what truly sets it apart. Whether I’m engraving wood, marking gold and silver, or experimenting with different materials, it handles everything effortlessly. The precision is incredible, and I’ve been able to achieve crisp, professional-looking results on every project. The F1 is not only powerful but also user-friendly. The setup was straightforward, and the software is intuitive, even for someone who isn’t overly tech-savvy. It’s a joy to use, and I’ve found myself spending hours creating custom designs, from slate coasters to pet tags. The creative possibilities are endless, and it’s brought so much fun to my hobby. What I also love is how compact and sleek the design is—it doesn’t dominate my workspace but still feels robust and reliable. The build quality is solid, and it’s clear that xTool put a lot of thought into making this machine durable and long-lasting. One tip for future buyers: invest a little time in learning the software and experimenting with settings for different materials—it’s well worth it to unlock the full potential of this machine. Overall, the xTool F1 is worth every penny. It’s not just a laser engraver—it’s a creative powerhouse that’s reignited my passion for crafting. If you’re on the fence, take the leap. You won’t regret it!

Very good quality. The software is easy to use and the machine speed is fast. Almost all materials can be engraved, I guess. It’s portable and convenient to carry. Not very heavy
