Picky ingredients make for a great protein bar!
Ok. These protein bars are REALLY good. They're just about right in every way I can think of. They're not too sweet, not too salty, not too rich, and not too filling. I got the "Apple Cinnawin" version. The company says they're "picky" about the ingredients and it shows. The flavor is what it says on the tin, apples with a hint of cinnamon, but doesn't taste like it's from a factory with lab-made ingredients. It tastes like these bars have been carefully made by a family member, possibly your grandmother! At US$26.95 at time of purchase, these protein bars are competitive with other similar products. But not all of those are vegan, gluten free, GMO free, and soy free.

Nice flavor with a bit of crunch.
I usually don’t buy plant-based products because the taste is often unpleasant. But I thought I’d take a chance on these. I tried the Peanut Chocolate Champ and found the taste more pleasant than expected. I will have no problem finishing the box. The bars have a definite peanut butter and chocolate flavor. I like the little bit of crunch. It’s nice that no artificial sweeteners, including stevia or erythritol, are used. You get 3 grams of fiber, 10 grams of plant-based protein and 9 grams of fat, which help satiate and keep hunger at bay. I’ve never heard of this brand. I wouldn’t say this bar would beat out a favorite of mine, but I will consider purchasing this brand again. The only drawback for me is the price per bar. However, I understand that not using cheap and unhealthy ingredients raises the cost and value.

TERRIBLE - not like the old bars at all
I've been ordering and loving Picky bars for years. The Oh Fudge Nuts was my favorite. This new version is truly gross. It had no flavor, was SO DRY and nearly inedible.

Plant based protein bars
Ordered the Peanut Chocolate Champ, pack of 10. So cost is about $2.50 per bar. I was hoping to like them as they seem to be a healthy product and made from quality ingredients. They are just pretty flavorless in my opinion. Sort of have a bland peanut butter/almond butter taste to them, and not sweet at all. This may be a positive since that likely indicates that they are made from quality ingredients and not artificial sweeteners. For 200 calories per bar I just personally would seek out more tasteful options. The main concerning thing is that there is a warning on that box that the product may contain heavy metals. While I realize this may be due to the country of origin’s regulatory laws, that is concerning and makes me not want to eat them at all. Why would anyone want to consume a product that may have heavy metals like lead in them?

Delicious with no aftertaste.
I am pleasantly surprised at how delicious these Picky protein bars are. The name says it all because if you're picky about the taste and texture of protein bars as much as I am, you will enjoy these. The moment you bite into these bars, you get the texture of a Snickers bar, a lot of peanuts, and the great taste of peanut butter and chocolate. Just the right amount of sweetness and zero chalkiness. I have tried a lot of protein bars over the years, and I am not a fan of many due to the texture and the taste. So I was eager to try these bars out, and I am happy I did. With 10 grams of plant protein and dairy-free, these are my new on-the-go meal replacement bars. I highly recommend!

One of the Better Protein Bars My Husband Has Tried
The Picky Protein Nut Butter Bars are about average size for protein bars but feel heavier. They look okay for a bar but are not particularly appetizing-looking. The flavor is good: they are only lightly sweet with some apple, but very little cinnamon, flavor. They are very dense and chewy (a jaw workout, in fact) with a little crunch, presumably from the pea protein crisps. My husband is the main consumer of protein bars in our house, and he thought they were one of the better protein bars he’s tried. Ours arrived with a “Best By” date about 6 months in the future from Canada.

taste really good
These were amazing. The storm hit my town with no power and these were one of the only things I had to eat. They taste amazing, I like the consistency and mixture of textures. In addition they kept me full with lots of clean energy. Couldn't be happier with them.

Pretty okay
I thought these chocolate peanut protein bars were a little on the bland side. The chocolate flavor wasn’t as rich as I expected, and they were missing that sweet kick I usually look for in a snack bar. However, my partner, who loves anything chocolate peanut, thought they were pretty good. He appreciated the flavor balance and found them to be a satisfying snack, especially after a workout. So while they didn’t win me over, they definitely have their fans if you're a chocolate-peanut lover!
