Review: COSTWAY 18,000 BTU Mini Split Air Conditioner, - Bought this in August of 2024. Have used it steadily for 1.5 years now. Cools and heats a 900sqft open shop. It does a good job. I have not had any issues with it what-so ever. Installation was not too hard. The Install direction are just okay - but I managed. My unit is 208-240V. For the cost - it was really a bargain. I would recommend to anyone that is a DIY type person. Having a HVAC tech install it would have really upped the affordability. So far - it has been a good unit. My thanks to the supplier/vendor for the reasonable price and quick shipping.
Review: Awesome unit. - The install and set up was a breeze due to the detailed instructions and it has a video walk through instructions as well. I love the unit and it performed perfectly until the schraeder valve, used for pulling a vacuum, failed leaking the R32 refrigerant Freon out slowly causing the unit to quit heating or cooling due to low refrigerant. I’m in contact with cost way now trying to resolve the issue. I do not blame the manufacturer because it is a small valve that is common failure point on all units not just theirs.

**Q: I will be powering this ac unit with a generator. What are the exact power requirements? Wattage and or amps. Voltage is given 110ac.**
A: According to the description this unit uses 1500 watts. That's 14 amps at 110 AC. While it MAY be possible to run it on a 14 gauge wire, 15 Amp circuit, National Building Code in the United States will require it to be on a 12 gauge wire, 20 Amp circuit. They require that in order to prevent the wire from over heating and possibly starting a fire. BTW, it is recommended that you put it on its own circuit.

**Q: What is the warranty period?**
A: Hello and thank you for your question in regards to the COSTWAY mini spilt ac unit. The warranty is 8 years on parts replacement and 8 years on compressor.

**Q: Could the outside unit be used in a space for a wall through AC?  I understand it needs lots of air circulating.  Is it that unit loud?**
A: It’s whisper quite when I first turned ours on I kept checking to see it was running it’s that quiet

**Q: What  size batterys does the remote use n how many does it take n do they come with it**
A: AAA batteries and yes it does come with batteries.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Affordable HEATING AND COOLING!

We’ve had these in for about two months. We chose mini splits because the house we bought had outdated baseboard heating and no central AC. Our house is 1200 sq feet and we purchased two of these. (One for the end of the hallway and one for the main living area. They are AWESOME. SO affordable for us as first time homebuyers. The installation wasn’t hard once you get the hang of it. My husband did these with some help. You do have to know your way around wiring and using a hvac vacuum. We are in the North and it’s gotten into the 20’s so far and they’ve done great. The remote doesn’t do much beyond change the temperature it seems. However I should mess with it some more. I’ve barely seen a difference in my electric bill!!!! Which is amazing. Since we have one at the end of the hallway to keep all the rooms warm/cold, I do tend to run a box fan just to keep the air flowing better down the hall. You can’t hear the indoor unit running. We are really happy to have found these. These DO come with “whips” to connect to the disconnect box outside and they do seem decent quality. We already had our own so used those. The drain hose seems flimsy so you may want to use your own pvc pipe. Thanks for reading!
