Good quality product at a good price

Bought the 240 volt makita trimmer a few months previous and found it to be a great little tool, light weight and a solid build. I bought this attachment to make it a more versatile tool as my 1/4 inch trend router had died. While a little expensive (I'm in for about £180 with the trimmer and this plunge base!) I cannot fault it. It feels comfortable in the hand, the depth stop works nice, dust extraction is good and the plunge action is spot on with no play. The guide bush size is different from the trimmer which is a bit annoying but Makita do sell an adapter. But to be honest I like to have the extra width so you can see the cutting process. The main advantage of this base for me is that I plan to buy the cordless trimmer (body only) and use this with my door jig which should speed things up considerably. While expensive I think it's a worthwhile investment, especially if you already have the trimmer

Don’t know if this is a Makita knock off, but even if it is fits my Makita routers perfectly as far as I’m concerned an excellent product. I believe this might have come in at approximately 50% of the price of one in a bricks and mortar store in Australia
