Games Workshop - Warhammer 40,000: Paints + Tools Set

Good color variety with some good technical and contrast paints included. Citadel has been my go to for ease of use and color consistency. These combo packs are a great value compared to buying them individually.

Good beginner set with some really good colors in here. Wouldn't mind a few additional paint brushes, but this will put you in the right direction

Nothing was missing and I had no leaking paints, so not much to complain about. The only bad thing I could say is the included brush and clippers are of poor quality. I think this is to be expected since they are basically included for free.

Citadel paints are tge best so far that I have used in an airbrush. I only have about 15 colors and out of the 4 I have used. The paint seemed to be dried out and thick. I fixed it by soaking them in hot water

Nice starter set. Warhammer kits are a bit pricey for someone who likes to just paint the miniatures and not actually play the game itself.

The paint is high quality. The paint seems to be made for this specific purpose. They put a lot of thought and effort into creating something that suits miniatures. Can you find something like this elsewhere? I have no idea. I'm going to put some under the microscope but yeah it's paint. The brush that comes with this is pretty decent. The instructions could be better, but I can definitely see that they are trying. You have to be willing to experiment and take a chance. If you do the math you're getting quite a bit of paint for a pretty good price. You might end up needing a color that they aren't shipping which is a shame, but I think that's an excellent set.

To be clear, I knew absolutely zero about painting miniatures when I ordered this. My oldest son decided he wanted to give Warhammer 40k a try, so I ordered him a starter kit, which came with no paint, which in my opinion doesn't make it a very good starter kit, but that's a different review. Thankfully I found this paint set, because buying the paints individually was going to be quite a bit more costly. Although it was pretty banged up when it was delivered, all the paints were intact. There is a good variety of colors and textures. You get 9 Base paints, one Contrast, one Shade, one Layer, and one technical. The brush that is included isn't the best, but it will get you started. Clippers worked as intended and they also toss in a little tool for removing excess plastic from your miniatures. No instructions or anything explaining the paint types, I had to look up videos to learn. From the few that we've used thus far, I can say that they seem to be good quality paints. The base paints are pretty thick with amazing pigment, even after you water them down a little and after drying leave a smooth finish. All in all, this little set is a great value compared to order the paints individually.

A good value paint set that is especially ideal if purchased one of the starter box sets which has space marines and tyranids. It gives you more options for more detailed painting plus a bunch of them will be handy for other armies if you decide to move on to others. It comes with some cutters to remove the parts from the sprues, a little file to smooth off mould lines and a basic paint brush that is ok but would recommend a better brush for finer detail
